ONLINE TUTOR (INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR)

Dojo Tutor advances that mission through a marketplace that connects caring, skilled tutors with families seeking engaging online learning experiences, from 1:1 sessions to group classes, that build skills and confidence. We’re growing fast and hearing every day how tutoring changes lives for students and tutors alike.
WHAT THIS OPPORTUNITY LOOKS LIKE
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity. You set your own availability, design your own sessions and classes, and choose your subjects, whether that’s 1:1 tutoring, group classes, or both. Families browse and select the tutor or class that fits their learner. Our platform provides scheduling tools, the LessonSpace virtual classroom, and payment processing so you can focus on what you do best.

WHAT GREAT TUTORS TYPICALLY DO (YOU’RE IN CONTROL)
- Offer reliable weekly availability so families can build a routine with you
- Design engaging 1:1 or group experiences that reflect your teaching strengths and interests
- Personalize instruction, celebrate progress, and communicate clearly with families
- Explore optional learning opportunities to sharpen your online teaching and grow your tutoring business
WHAT SUCCESSFUL DOJO TUTORS TYPICALLY HAVE
- Experience helping kids grow in one or more subjects (e.g., phonics, number sense, conversational Spanish, intro to coding, scientific inquiry)
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills with children and families
- Professional online setup: computer with camera/mic, stable internet, quiet, well-lit space
- Willingness to complete a background check (required for activation). Teaching certification is a plus, not required.
CONTRACTING & ELIGIBILITY
- Independent contractor (1099): you manage your schedule; hours aren’t guaranteed; no employment benefits
- Location eligibility applies; we’re currently accepting tutors from most U.S. States and Mexico
