Organization: Acute Rehab PT/OT 3 Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY Provides occupational therapy services to patients who have impairments, developmental disabilities, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes under occasional guidance. Actively collaborates with the health care/educational team to meet patient care, outcomes and system improvement objectives. . Occupational Therapist (OT) – Acute Care PRN Location:   Vanderbilt Health | Nashville, TN Schedule:   PRN (As Needed) | Weekday and Weekend Opportunities Available Preferred Availability:   Approximately 2 shifts per week

Vanderbilt Health is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Care Rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. This opportunity is ideal for therapists looking to supplement their current role, maintain acute care expertise, or enjoy a flexible schedule while making a meaningful impact on patients' recovery journeys.

As part of one of the nation's leading academic health systems, you'll work alongside a highly collaborative rehabilitation team while caring for medically complex patients across a variety of inpatient specialties.

How You Will Make a Difference • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy evaluations and interventions for patients across acute care settings.

• Treat diverse patient populations, including ICU, transplant, trauma, neurological, oncology, surgical, and complex medical patients.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to support exceptional patient outcomes.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on safety, mobility, function, and independence.

• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, equipment recommendations, and discharge planning needs.

• Document evaluations, treatments, and outcomes in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.

• Support a culture of clinical excellence, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

What We're Looking For • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Tennessee (or eligible for Tennessee licensure).

• Minimum of one (1) year of occupational therapy experience required.

• Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred.

• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient advocacy skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Analyzes comprehensive information from formal and informal assessment that is pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine a rehabilitation treatment diagnosis. • Collaborates with stakeholders in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the rehabilitation continuum. • Applies appropriate, evidence-based interventions to ensure effective outcomes and re-evaluates performance to assess patient's progress towards goals. • Employs strategies to promote successful return to home, community, and school/vocational environments. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES • Rehab Therapist Patient Documentation (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency in documentation practices. Documents in the appropriate templates and utilizes only approved abbreviations within patient documentation.
