CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                           1.  Demonstrates and articulates sound clinical reasoning in synthesizing complex evaluation data, identifying diagnosis, and developing a comprehensive care plan. 2. Develops and updates an appropriate care plan with measurable goals in collaboration with the patient and their family and based on the person's age and lifestyle. 3. Selects and administers assessment and treatment techniques and performs age-appropriate competency skills evaluations. 4. Follows intervention protocols and revises interventions appropriately. 5. Discharges patient when goals have been met or medical necessity is no longer indicated. 6. Initiates patient and family education relative to age, readiness to learn, and emotional status. 7. Utilizes appropriate methods and materials for effective learning, monitoring response to education, adapting program appropriately. 8. Ensures that patient and family understand when and how to access further intervention. 9. Performs data collection for the department accurately and within the expected time frame. 10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                                         

Education: Master’s degree in relevant field required

Certification and Licensing: Valid State of Florida Occupational Therapist (OT) license required.  Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements

Experience: • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: • Learning Agility:  Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands. • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment. • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. • Communication: strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.

• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines. • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and according to HIPPA requirements. • Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as necessary. • Commitment to the University’s core values. • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
