Department Cardiology Physicians
Denver Health Medical Center is seeking a full-time Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join our collaborative, mission-driven cardiovascular team at one of the nation’s premier integrated safety-net health systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice comprehensive clinical cardiology while contributing to education and care for a diverse, urban patient population.
You will join a multidisciplinary group of 12 cardiologists and 8 advanced practice providers delivering the full spectrum of cardiovascular care, including advanced electrophysiology and interventional cardiology services.
Clinical Responsibilities • Comprehensive non-invasive cardiology practice, including inpatient (CCU/consultative services) and outpatient care • Interpretation of stress testing, ECGs, and ambulatory rhythm monitoring • Advanced echocardiography, including transesophageal and stress echocardiography • Opportunities for cardiac imaging, including nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, and potential involvement in cardiac MRI, based on training and interest • Supervision and teaching of cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students through our academic partnership with the University of Colorado
Qualifications Required: • MD or DO degree • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease • Level II echocardiography training • Commitment to team-based care and service to a diverse, multicultural patient population • BLS -American Heart Association Required • ACLS - American Heart Association Required
Preferred: • Advanced echocardiographic expertise (3D echo, strain imaging) • Level III echocardiography and/or NBE certification • Certification in nuclear cardiology and/or cardiac CT • Procedural TEE experience
Academic Appointment Denver Health is an integrated clinical and academic partner of the University of Colorado School of Medicine. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment at an academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Major components of the Denver Health include: • 555-bed hospital including medical, surgical, psychiatric, obstetric and pediatric units with over 26,000 admissions annually to the hospital • Level 1 trauma services for adults • Level 2 services for pediatrics • Emergency Department: adult and pediatric units, a dedicated Psychiatry Emergency Services unit and Mobile Crisis Services • Denver Paramedics : the sole provider of emergency medical services for the City and County of Denver, as well as the cities of Sheridan, Glendale and Englewood. The Division responds to more than 130,000 calls each year. • 10 federally qualified community health centers • 19 School-based health centers located in Denver Public School’s middle and high schools, providing primary care, mental health, reproductive health education and insurance enrollment assistance services. • State-of-the-art 300,000sq foot outpatient medical center that opened in 2020. • The state’s largest Behavioral Health Services serving more than 88,000 patients annually: • Care for persons in the criminal justice system: medical and behavioral care at the Denver Detention Center, Denver County Jail, the Arapahoe County jail and the Correctional Care Medical Facility, an inpatient unit in the hospital with telemedicine capabilities. • Denver Health NurseLine provides 24/7 health advice and recommendations for care, enabling more than 142,000 patients annually to get free and confidential answers to health-related questions. • Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Safety provides poison and drug information services to medical professionals and the public in Colorado, Nevada, Montana, Hawaii and Wyoming. • Denver Health Medical Plan Inc provides commercial, Medicaid, CHP+ and Medicare services • Public Health Institute at Denver Health providing epidemiology and informatics, communicable disease control, health promotion and specialized clinical services (clinics for TB, viral hepatitis, STD and Family Planning, HIV care and Immunizations
