Your Impact
Axon’s NIBRS and Compliance team is looking for a UCR Specialist to join forces with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to help build and certify NIBRS and state compliant products within Axon’s newest public safety records management system. This RMS will automate officer’s workflows, provide real-time validation messages, and offer law enforcement administrators the ability to easily submit their state crime reports as well as crash, citation, and other supplemental state compliance reports.
Axon has led the global effort to protect life and through electric weapons, body cameras, a number of real-time sensors, public safety software products and AI tools. Axon is uniquely positioned to tie together every aspect of an incident in order to help law enforcement agencies better prepare for what might happen, respond efficiently and effectively, deliver justice, ensure the well-being of their officers, and increase the safety of communities. Working together with our customers and product teams, you will build the foundation for Axon’s outcome-oriented data efforts.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from the US Reports to: Manager, NIBRS and Compliance
• Provide input on National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) and compliance reporting requirements (including crash, citations, and other state reporting) for Axon’s roadmap
• Work directly with agency stakeholders to develop and implement plan to meet NIBRS certification and other compliance reporting requirements.
• Build state-specific forms and work with engineering to guide requirements for state-specific NIBRS and Compliance requirements.
• Join Forces with the Product and Engineering teams to ensure national and state standards are accurately defined
• Identify key NIBRS and state reporting challenges, propose solutions, and seek feedback from leadership and stakeholders
• Validate data with NIBRS state program specialists and agency stakeholders in support of certification process
• Act as an internal NIBRS and Compliance expert and consultant to PSO, Sales, Customer Support, and Data Platform.
• Provides ongoing NIBRS training.
• Audit forms and product specification standards.
• Influence peers, advise leaders, coach and mentor junior team members.
What You Bring
• 3+ years experience in Law Enforcement technology
• Deep level understanding of the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) submission requirements
• Experience with Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) is a plus, including Use of Force
• Experience with other Compliance reporting is a plus, including: Crash, citation, domestic violence, traffic stop data, etc.
• Ability to influence cross-functionally to achieve results
• Experience with Flat File, XML and/or JSON, the ability to decipher patterns is a plus
• Strong communication skills (both oral & written)
• Demonstrated knowledge of technical and systems-level solutions for enterprise software
• Ability to make hard tradeoff assessments
• Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and maintain confidential and highly sensitive information.
