About this role

Overview:

  Schedule : • Monday to Friday • Between 7 am to 2 pm • 2 to 3 times a week

  Job Description Summary:

  Ensures safety of patients and staff during MRI procedures by screening and monitoring for contraindications and maintaining equipment.   Job Description:

  Essential Functions: • Maintains security around the entrance to each magnet. • Ensures that no person enters Zone 3 without proper screening for ferrous objects. Uses metal detection devices as warranted to detect ferrous objects. • Actively participates in the responsibility for MR safety of each patient and other employees. • Follows Radiation, MR, and general safety policies. • Complies with radiology, state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines, and policies. • Represents the department’s customer service focus for both internal and external contacts.

Education Requirement: • High school graduate, required. • Currently enrolled in healthcare related field of study, preferred.

Licensure Requirement: (not specified)

Certifications: Current CPR Certification, preferred.

Skills: High level of professionalism and ability to establish good rapport with patients and staff.

Experience: Healthcare or clinical experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements: OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Biohazard waste, Chemicals/Medications, Computer skills, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Interpreting Data, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 41-60 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 100 lbs or greater with assistance, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 41-60 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 61-100 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Repetitive hand/arm use FREQUENTLY: Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Decision Making, Problem solving CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Color vision, Depth perception, Hearing acuity, Peripheral vision, Seeing – Far/near, Sitting, Squat/kneel, Standing, Walking
