About this role

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

Responsibilities include: • Translate engineering designs and sketches into detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using Creo/Windchill • Create and maintain detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards • Develop and update interface control documents (ICDs) under the direction of design engineers • Perform basic tolerance stack-up checks and drawing reviews to ensure manufacturability and dimensional accuracy • Support engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) by updating drawings, models, and associated documentation • Maintain configuration control and version management of CAD models and drawings within Windchill PLM • Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and quality teams to resolve drawing discrepancies and fabrication issues • Support first-article inspection and production by clarifying drawing intent and dimensional requirements • Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry codes, and customer requirements • Assist in creating and maintaining bill of materials (BOMs) for structural assemblies

Qualifications: • 3-5+ years of experience creating detailed drawings and models for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures • Proficiency with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill 10 • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application (ASME Y14.5) • Experience creating detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings for metallic and/or composite structures • Familiarity with fastener callouts, weld symbols, and standard hardware representation • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering intent from sketches, models, and verbal direction • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired: • Experience with configuration management processes and PLM systems (Windchill preferred) • Familiarity with manufacturing processes for metallic and composite structures (machining, forming, layup/cure) • Experience supporting first-article inspection (FAI) and production floor troubleshooting • Understanding of material call-outs and basic material compatibility considerations • Experience working in a regulated aerospace environment (AS9100 or similar)

  Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $34.39 - $48.14 Other site ranges may differ
