About this role
Location: Medical Center - Fort Worth Department: Psychiatry Shift: Varying Shifts (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 12 Summary: Make a real difference in kids' lives while working a schedule that works for you. This PRN Mental Health Technician/Program Support Specialist II role offers flexible 4, 6, or 12 hour shifts, ideal for building clinical experience alongside school, a second job, or other commitments. You'll serve as the primary caregiver for psychiatric patients ages Pre-K through adolescent, supporting daily living activities, maintaining a safe therapeutic environment, and helping manage challenging behaviors. You'll also take part in crisis intervention, teaching, group process, and on-call rotations as needed
Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree required preferably in psychology, child development, social work or related field
• Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Child growth and development education required
• CPR - BLS within 60 days of start date
• CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 must be completed within 60 days of start date
Minimum requirements changed March 2022. Prior employees grandfathered in with at least 2 years of previous inpatient/partial hospital/residential child or adolescent services for each year of college
