Job Description Mechanical Designer Job Description The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom manufacturing equipment, tooling, and process improvements for Amcor operations. What We Value • Strong SolidWorks 3D modeling and drawing creation skills. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills. • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. • Manufacturing and mechanical aptitude. What We Want From You • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (minimum requirement). • 3+ years of mechanical design experience preferred. • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks including parts, assemblies, weldments, and print creation. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Physical Requirements • Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments. • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. • Ability to wear required PPE. What You Will Do • Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks. • Create manufacturing prints, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials. • Design machine components, tooling, fixtures, guarding, and production equipment modifications. • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously from concept through implementation. • Coordinate project activities with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors. • Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting efforts. • Maintain engineering documentation and revision control. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Limited travel may be required.
