The Role

Xos is seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler to join our Warehouse team. This is an exciting opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual to contribute to the success of the warehouse operations by ensuring the efficient movement and handling of materials within our facility.

To be a successful Material Handler at Xos, you should be able to receive, inspect and record shipments with raw material or products. You will be responsible for loading and unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders. Ultimately, the Material Handler should be highly organized, have a great eye for detail, and able to manage incoming material to ensure we receive the correct packages.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries.

• Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.

• Unload packages from incoming trucks.

• Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged.

• Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc).

• Contact the supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified.

• Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements.

• Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.

• Ensure invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries.

• Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.

• Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.

• Organize stock in the most efficient way using forklifts, pallets, cranes, etc.

• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a shipping and receiving clerk or a similar position.

• Experience in operating forklifts - Forklift certification a plus.

• Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data.

• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.

• Basic math and recording abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Great communication and interpersonal abilities.

• A keen eye for detail.

• Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks).

• Available to work full-time hours, Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm

• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, lift, carry; and reach with hands and arms in large and tight spaces. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift 25+ lbs and occasionally 50+ lbs. Good eye and hand coordination, and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items. W orksite locations, including outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
