How you will contribute Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Materials Control Specialist position in the Global Utility Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be responsible for site receiving and inventory control for small parts. This individual will be responsible for receiving against the supplier paperwork as material is unloaded, including checking materials for quality standards as received. Additionally, you will… • Control movement of materials to work and stations or to storage areas based on requirements supplied by the Supervisor or others. • Check incoming raw material against the supplier paperwork as it is unloaded
• • Check material for markings • Check BOL, Certified Mill Test reports and match to PO • Note discrepancies on the physical receipt of material on the BOL
• Receive and unload materials. Catalog and mark materials to insure proper storage. • Enter data and complete required reports. • Maintain paperwork on arriving materials and distribute to the appropriate person. • Assemble kits per manufacturing requirements in advance of the production schedule • Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without errors. • Use various types of material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes to unload and move materials. • Complete TPM inspection of the forklift and cranes in-use and rigging equipment on a daily basis. • Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management. • Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.
What it takes Required Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent • At least 2 years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired • Knowledge of various receiving and inventory storage procedures • Basic computer knowledge • Able to learn and work according to Valmont’s environmental policies
Highly qualified candidates will also possess: • Prior forklift and overhead crane experience preferred • An understanding of job-related programs • Knowledge of Valmont’s quality procedures, standards, and practices • Experience with IFS software systems • Ability to work independently on tasks to meet deadlines • Able to analyze situations to resolve problems
