Job Responsibilities:
General Job Duties: • To exhibit an objective, fair and professional attitude that exemplifies the principles outlined in The MAGNA Employee’s Charter to maintain a positive and productive workplace. • To follow Decostar policies and display conduct expected of Decostar employees as described in the employee handbook. • Ensure that you follow company policies and business objectives in the daily supervision of the operations of the company. • To exhibit teamwork and leadership skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment. • To demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement. • To support all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Decostar. • To perform daily cross-functional job assignments as required and per the department’s established procedures and work instructions. • Ensure a spirit of respect, cooperation, ethical conduct and fair dealing in all our operations between our internal and external customers and suppliers.
Specific Job Duties: • To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors. • Exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors and eliminating or reducing the possibility of employee injury due to hazardous conditions. • Immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner, to any Decostar employee's health and safety concern or suggestion. • Immediately report any accidents, incidents, or near misses to the Safety Department and complete required accident reporting documentation within established timelines. • Complete all required safety-related inspections. • Ensure all employees under your guidance have received the required training to perform their jobs safely. • Serve as Decostar's manufacturing process expert by identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. • Support the development and launch of new Decostar programs, capital projects, manufacturing equipment, and production processes. • Work with Program Managers, Launch Managers, Product Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Production personnel to develop robust manufacturing processes that meet customer and program requirements. • Develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing process documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), One Point Lessons (OPLs), Process Flow Diagrams, and Training Records. • Maintain and update Decostar Secondary Tooling Standards and support the sourcing, procurement, installation, and validation of tooling and manufacturing equipment. • Prepare and issue request-for-quote packages to suppliers for tooling, fixtures, automation, and manufacturing equipment while supporting supplier selection and implementation activities. • Support manufacturing budgets by evaluating capital expenditures, process improvements, and tooling investments to achieve cost and operational objectives. • Analyze manufacturing processes, cycle times, equipment utilization, labor requirements, and production capacity to optimize operational performance. • Conduct line balancing, workstation design, material flow analysis, and plant layout improvements to maximize productivity and efficiency. • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities for process, equipment, quality, and production issues and implement effective corrective actions. • Support APQP activities including PFMEAs, Control Plans, process validations, Run-at-Rate activities, and customer launch requirements. • Ensure manufacturing equipment is designed, sourced, installed, and operational to support customer, product, and program timing requirements. • Provide support to production operations, including startup activities, operator training, process validation, and continuous process optimization. • Develop and implement equipment, fixture, tooling, and automation improvements that increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce manufacturing costs. • Conduct Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops to optimize manufacturing operations and eliminate waste. • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles including Visual Management, 5S, Kanban, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, and standardized work to improve operational performance. • Evaluate engineering changes and coordinate implementation activities to ensure manufacturing processes, tooling, and documentation are updated accurately and on schedule. • Work with suppliers as assigned to resolve manufacturing, tooling, equipment, and process-related issues. • Support the Decostar Suggestion Program (VOICE) in a manner that fosters and encourages participation by all D
