The Manufacturing Engineer Associate – 2nd Shift will provide hands-on engineering support to off-shift manufacturing operations, with a focus on automated equipment, tooling, and production processes. This entry-level role will troubleshoot automated tooling issues, support work content and engineering changes, and assist with layouts and 3D-printed tooling. The individual will work closely with the Controls Engineer, developing automation and controls knowledge while helping minimize production downtime and support new product introductions.
Plant 2nd shift hours: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am EST. Please note: These reflect general core hours, start and end times will vary based on needs.
YOUR IMPACT These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned. • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to JLG's engineering standards and processes.
• Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plants, designs, computation methods, and reporting.
• Work on projects with limited complexity in a support role.
• Prepare vehicle layouts and component part drawings with supporting calculations (i.e. weight distribution etc.).
• Select parts and/or design components for cost and quality-consciousness.
• Follow project on the assembly floor or through prototype build when instructed by supervisor and render assistance as necessary.
• Generate bills of material and assembly drawings as required by the project.
• Adhere to time schedules.
• Utilize engineering tools (CAD) equipment in assigned projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS • Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in manufacturing, automation, controls, or a related engineering environment.
• Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PLCs, controls systems, robotics, sensors, or other industrial automation technologies.
• Experience with CAD/3D modeling software and engineering layouts.
• Experience with or exposure to 3D printing/additive manufacturing and tooling design.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work hands-on with production, maintenance, controls, and engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances. • This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations.
• The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting items up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment.
• Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
• Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.

Pay Range: $57,600.00 - $90,400.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
