About this role
About TensorWave
Our mission is simple: deliver seamless, secure, reliable, and resilient AI compute at scale. We've built a versatile cloud platform that eliminates infrastructure barriers, empowering builders to focus on innovation instead of fighting their stack. Because breakthrough AI should move at the speed of ideas, not infrastructure.
About the Role
TensorWave sells multi-year compute contracts and raises the capital that funds the infrastructure behind them. We're looking for a Manager, Strategic Finance & Corporate FP&A who will build the models on the commercial and corporate side of that equation: what we charge, what it returns, what the business looks like when you roll it all up, and where the next dollar of capital should go.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance & FP&A, you will own two connected bodies of work. The first is commercial deal modeling: the pricing engines behind customer contracts and the return analysis that tells us whether a deal is worth signing. The second is the corporate view: the consolidated operating model, the capital allocation framework, and the strategic analysis that informs how leadership deploys capital across sites, hardware, and growth. Capital Markets runs financing execution as a separate function, and you will supply the corporate financial case that supports it rather than running the process yourself.
This is a hands-on seat with an unusual tempo. Much of the work arrives from outside: a counterparty proposal, an investor question that needs an answer the same day, a term revision that changes the economics of a deal already in flight. You should expect to be handed a problem rather than a specification and to return with the analysis, a recommended course of action, and a model that is defensible in a room with customers, investors, and the Board.
We care more about slope than tenure. If you have been the analyst your team hands the hardest models to, and you are looking for the seat where you own the answer instead of formatting someone else's, this is that seat.
What You’ll Do
Commercial Deal Modeling
- Pricing and Structuring: Build and maintain the pricing engines behind customer contracts, including take-or-pay economics, multi-site portfolio pricing, term and credit sensitivity, and prepayment or buydown structures.
- Return Analysis: Solve for pricing against target returns and financing constraints, and quantify the tradeoffs when a counterparty pushes on price, term, deployment schedule, or cost basis.
- Counterparty-Ready Output: Produce customer-facing and advisor-facing versions of the analysis where the logic is transparent, the inputs are adjustable, and the numbers hold up under scrutiny from a sophisticated reviewer.
Corporate Model & Capital Allocation
- Corporate Model: Build and maintain the consolidated operating model, cash flow forecast, and long-range plan, connecting commercial contracts, site deployment, and cost structure into one financial picture of the company.
- Capital Allocation: Build the analysis behind where capital goes next, including returns by site and hardware generation, build versus lease decisions, timing tradeoffs, and the opportunity cost of each committed dollar.
- Financing Case Support: Supply Capital Markets with the corporate model, projections, and supporting analysis that underpin financing processes, and quantify what proposed structures and terms do to the corporate picture.
Strategic Analysis & Investor Support
- Decision Support: Frame and answer the questions leadership is actually deciding on, including capacity commitments, pricing strategy, contract structure, and the financial consequences of moving faster or slower.
- Market and Competitive Analysis: Benchmark TensorWave against public comparables and market data, and translate what changes in the AI compute market mean for our plan.
- Executive and Board Materials: Build the analysis and narrative behind Board and investor reporting, with assumptions stated plainly and confidence levels made explicit.
- Investor Relations Support: Support our relationships with existing and prospective investors, including quarterly investor updates, data and diligence requests, KPI reporting, and the financial content behind fundraising materials. Prepare leadership for investor conversations with the analysis and talking points behind the numbers.
Analysis & Reporting
- Rapid-Turn Analysis: Deliver credible answers to executive and counterparty questions on short timelines, with assumptions stated plainly and the level of confidence made clear.
- Proactive Escalation: Surface risks, timing shifts, and capital opportunities early, always paired with executable, recommended next steps.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, applied mathematics, or another business major, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or strategic finance, with meaningful exposure to capital-intensive businesses. That could be data centers, energy, hardware, logistics, or any environment where capex, contract structure, and financing shaped the decision.
- A track record of building complex financial models from scratch, not just updating someone else's tabs
- Working knowledge of how capital structure interacts with operating decisions. You should understand what debt terms constrain and why financing structure changes what a deal is worth. We will teach the rest, quickly.
- Comfort working in models that are generated and recalculated programmatically. Our core models run tens of thousands of formulas and are built in Python. You do not need to arrive fluent, but you do need to be the kind of person who picks up a new tool over a weekend because the work requires it.
- Proven ability to take an ambiguous problem, structure it without guidance, and delive
