Situated at Stage 31 on the iconic Warner Bros Studios Burbank lot, CrewHQ | US provides wrap-around workforce development that addresses local skills gaps, from upskilling existing crews and department heads to best-in-class trainee programs, to initial industry exposure with emerging talent. Our slate of upskilling and entry-level training programs supports departments including, but not limited to, production office, finance, construction, costume, camera, locations, and post-production.
Your New Role… The Manager, Workforce Development & Production Pathways, CrewHQ US will manage the design, coordination, and delivery of CrewHQ’s production workforce development strategy across the US, with an initial emphasis on Warner Bros. Studios Burbank and the surrounding production ecosystem. This role will actively translate CrewHQ’s mission of Creating a Resilient Entertainment Workforce into practical training programs, career pathways, upskilling initiatives, and industry partnerships for existing crew and department heads, trainees and emerging below-the-line talent and liaise with both internal production and creative stakeholders along with internal and external industry partners and pathway providers.
The Manager will work closely with Production leadership, Studio Operations, Labor Relations, WBD Access, WBD Access to Action, Production HR, People & Culture, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, education partners, unions, workforce development organizations, and community-based partners to help identify skills gaps, develop training opportunities, and connect emerging and existing talent with meaningful career pathways.
The ideal candidate brings strong program management capability, knowledge and/or experience in the film and television production landscape, experience working with training or workforce development programs, and a collaborative approach to building pathways for people of all backgrounds acting as the key liaison between production teams and crews and internal production and creative stakeholders to develop and deliver production training and pathways in service of WB productions and union partners.
It is an essential function of this position that the work be performed entirely from the WB Studios Burbank and CrewHQ skills and training facility located at Stage 31 and may involve some travel.
Your Role Accountabilities… • Manage day-to-day execution of production pathway strategy to meet the current needs of production crews and both internal and industry stakeholders of CrewHQ US. • Manage all production training programs, apprenticeships, job placement initiatives, workshops, and career development opportunities that support entry points and mobility within the entertainment workforce. • Work with internal partners to identify upskilling, management, leadership training, and cross-training opportunities for WB production teams • Establish and support existing programs that support KPI’s and CrewHQ initiatives including best-in-class trainee programs, upskilling and department head offerings that compliment existing programs such as WBD Access to Action and WBD Access. • Support the design and execution of CrewHQ US workforce development programs aligned to business needs, production priorities, and local skills gaps. • Partner with Studio Operations, Production, Labor Relations, Production HR, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, and People & Culture teams to assess training needs, union requirements, skill gaps, and areas of opportunity for crew development. • Support alignment with existing Warner Bros. Discovery skills training, outreach, early career, internship, access, and development programs to reduce duplication and increase collaboration. • Build and maintain working relationships with workforce development programs, job centers, trade schools, community colleges, CTE educators, school districts, nonprofit organizations, and industry partners who specialize in production pathways. • Support partnerships with existing programs and organizations such as Hollywood CPR and other production workforce development collaborators, as applicable. • Coordinate program calendars, participant engagement, partner communications, training materials, and follow-up actions to ensure effective program delivery. • Track program participation, outcomes, feedback, and impact data to support reporting to CrewHQ leadership, advisory groups, and internal stakeholders. • Monitor emerging workforce needs, production trends, and training opportunities across key filming regions in North America. • Contribute to a scalable model for CrewHQ expansion by documenting program learnings, partner models, and delivery practices. • Key liaison with production clients, industry and union partners and internal stakeholders on production pathways and upskilling offerings • Partner with Sr Manager, Talent & Operations on data supporting existing production pathway programs, including WBD Access and Access to Action • Actively partner with Access and Access to Action, Labor Relations and Union partners to ensure CrewHQ serves as a hub to achieve specific and everchanging needs and skills development • Partner with Public Affairs teams to actively develop and deliver on
