Horizon3.ai is a fast-growing, remote cybersecurity company dedicated to the mission of enabling organizations to proactively find and fix and verify exploitable attack vectors before criminals exploit them. Our flagship product, the NodeZeroTM platform, delivers production-safe autonomous pentests and other key assessment operations that scale across the largest internal, external, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. WHAT YOU'LL DO
LEAD AND DEVELOP THE TEAM
Recruit, coach, and develop a team of Commercial Sales Engineers. Create a culture centered on accountability, continuous learning, collaboration, and exceptional customer experience.
DRIVE EXECUTION EXCELLENCE
Coach Sales Engineers on discovery, product demonstrations, technical qualification, and customer communication. Help the team build confidence and consistency while supporting a high volume of opportunities.
PARTNER WITH COMMERCIAL SALES LEADERSHIP
Work closely with Commercial Sales leaders to improve pipeline progression, technical qualification, and overall deal execution. Build strong relationships with Account Executives and frontline sales managers.
BUILD SCALABLE PROCESSES
Develop onboarding programs, playbooks, and repeatable operating rhythms that help early-career Sales Engineers ramp quickly and perform consistently.
COLLABORATE CROSS-FUNCTIONALLY
Partner with Product, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Engineering to improve the customer experience and share feedback from the field.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Solutions Architecture within cybersecurity or enterprise SaaS
- 2+ years of people leadership experience leading customer-facing technical teams
- Experience supporting Commercial, SMB, or Mid-Market sales organizations
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including networking, cloud security, identity, and vulnerability management
- Passion for coaching and developing early-career technical talent
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment
- Ability to build repeatable processes that improve execution and team performance
- Ability to work from our Chicago office three days per week

- Strong partnership exists between Commercial Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and Product teams.
- Operational excellence improves through consistent coaching, onboarding, and standardized best practices.
- Sales Engineers are engaged, developing professionally, and prepared to grow into more senior roles within the organization.

Our compensation structure is designed to be fair, competitive, and transparent, ensuring that every team member is recognized and compensated equitably across roles, levels, and locations.
In accordance with various State’s transparency regulations, we provide the following salary range information for this position:
- Total On-Target Compensation: $250,000 - $276,000 OTE 70/30 Split annually. The exact salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and relevant skills.
- Additional compensation: All full-time roles are eligible for an equity package in the form of stock options.
