This position leads a team supporting materials buying and planning activities for the site CAR-T program. Accountabilities include purchase order placement, management of promised delivery dates, analysis of material demand and usage, establishment of reorder points and safety stock, evaluation of order fulfillment and inventory trends, and collaboration with internal and external partners. The Manager develops the materials purchasing strategy, including target weeks of supply, material reconciliation, safety stock, reorder quantities, forecasts, supplier relationship management, and departmental KPIs and metrics. The role leverages the site's cGMP capabilities, current innovations, and future technologies to support supply and demand.

Experience: • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of team development and collaboration. • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and assist other areas of the organization. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong focus and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. • Flexible scheduling required. • Licenses/Certifications: • APICS certification is preferred.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Materials Planning and Supply Assurance • Lead the development and management of material requirements planning strategies to maintain target inventory levels supporting cell therapy manufacturing and development. • Lead short- and medium-term supply and demand analysis to identify future supplier and material requirements supporting strategic objectives. • Manage and use the material requirements planning system to generate supply plans based on inventory policies and supply chain constraints. • Interpret material demand and usage, establish reorder points and safety stock quantities, and analyze order fulfillment and inventory trends to maintain adequate material levels.

Purchasing, Supplier Management and Cost • Partner across site material supply chain, operations, and other functions to source materials in a timely and cost-effective manner while optimizing inventory and minimizing stockouts. • Develop robust supplier relationship management and maintain strong communication with critical suppliers. • Manage purchase order placement and promised delivery dates; proactively manage supply positions, projections, supplier delivery, and capacity risk. • Develop materials purchasing strategies covering target weeks of supply, reconciliation, safety stock, reorder quantities, and forecasts. • Identify cost-savings opportunities.

Metrics, Technology and Continuous Improvement • Establish and track key metrics and performance indicators for materials buying and planning. • Enable new technologies that accelerate and enhance CAR-T supply chain operations. • Serve as a source of knowledge for supply chain best practices and methodologies. • Lead and implement process improvements through open communication, cooperation, and shared goals.

People Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration • Lead and mentor a team of Material Buyer Planners, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. • Develop a continuous-learning organization positioned to support current and future company growth. • Coach and mentor individuals in technical development, change management, negotiations, communication, and cross-functional management. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align material planning activities with business objectives, quality requirements, and inventory management priorities. • Work cohesively with cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency, flexibility, and assurance of material availability.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Education: • Bachelor’s degree in applied science. • 5+ years of relevant experience in materials planning, purchasing, or inventory management within cGMP operations. • 2+ years of experience supporting ERP/WMS systems • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may substitute • 1 year of supervisory experience is a plus.

Compensation Overview:

Summit West - NJ - US: $88,850 - $107,666
 The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
