About this role
Job Description 1. Job Overview
Maintenance Team Lead supports the entire maintenance department operations by working with the Management Team and co-workers to improve safety, product quality, run time and prevent machine downtime. This includes maintaining accurate department records, developing and implementing process improvements, training operators, conduct department meetings, and develop and lead Continuous Improvement projects. The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains plant production machinery, support equipment, building, and other systems throughout the site to maintain optimum operating conditions and plant productivity. The Maintenance Technician also assists with related upgrades, improvements, and assigned projects as required.

3. Principal Accountabilities • Receives and performs job assignments through work orders, sketches, PM schedules, blueprints or verbal instructions. Follows applicable codes and regulations on work performed. • Responds to emergency requests for repairs/replacements. • Contractor Management. Assist Engineering Manager with the management of outsourced work for individual companies and their employees working on site to including determination and issuance of Amcor work permits and safety review. • Troubleshoot repairs and maintains a variety of production machinery and equipment including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and parts. • Installs, modifies and relocates machinery and equipment and performs fabrication, welding, mechanical, electrical, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, or other maintenance skills. • Repairs and modifies buildings and plant systems as required. • Reads and interprets manuals, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other written installation and repair instructions. • Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance of assigned plant equipment, machinery and systems including gauges, filters, fluid levels, system readings, cooling tower, gas burners, air compressors, chillers, etc. • Requisitions and secures materials, tools, and supplies needed for assignments. • Uses a variety of measuring and testing equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment and systems. • Uses a wide range of shop, hand, and power tools common to the various trades applied. • Maintains specified records, logs and system readings. • Troubleshooting and repair of components such as rolls, shafts, bearings, drive belts, drive chains and gear boxes utilizing basic mechanic’s hand and power tools • Troubleshooting and repair of pumps, valves and piping systems to include pipe threading • Troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic cylinders and controls • Troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic cylinders and controls • Perform a routine setup and operate a drill press, lathe, mill and grinding machine • Perform basic layout, steel fabrication and welding of carbon steel • Possess a knowledge of mechanical blueprint reading • Understanding of basic water treatment principles • Document work completed on MP2 work orders • Follow prescribed environmental, safety and health rules • Complies with sanitation guidelines and good manufacturing practices related to neatness, product cleanliness and personal hygiene. • Other tasks as assigned.

6. Qualifications/Requirements 6.1 Formal Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge and Experience • High level of experience and proficiency in the function, mechanics, and operation of all Maintenance equipment • Combination of technical training equivalent to that generally obtained in a two-year college or apprenticeship program. • Minimum 5 years manufacturing work experience and/or 1 year as Maintenance Technician ll, & training in: • Process Control & Instrumentation (temperature, flow, pressure, level, etc.) • Power Distribution (480 Vac & below) • Machine Control
Education and Certifications • High School Diploma or equivalent
6.2 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviours
Job Specific skills and abilities • Good computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office • Can perform all required PM checklists (Primary, Slitting, Pouching) • Can perform all required ISO Calibration for plant production equipment. • Knowledge of general maintenance techniques, processes, and procedures for the repair, installation, and modification of a variety of company equipment, systems and facilities. • Skilled in the use of basic hand, shop and power tools and wide range of test and measuring equipment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics and drawings. • Ability to conduct various tests to systems and must know and apply appropriate regulations and standards. • Forklift Certification or ability to obtain same. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently and make decisions on the most appropriate approach to solving problems. • Effective creative thinking and trouble shooting skills. • Good critical judgement and initiative. • Ability to cooperate well with others to follow safety procedures and prevent injuries. • Experience in the printing and converting industries. • Must be able to flex hours in order to support multi-shift operation • Organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills • Must prioritize safety, above all else
