About this role

As part of Richardson’s global agriculture and food business, our food and ingredients division plays a central role in connecting farm to table through our vertically integrated supply chain. Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Carrington, ND durum milling and pasta production facility, where we produce Dakota Growers pasta.  

Responsibilities:  

• Assist with preventative and predictive maintenance on process systems including mill, production, packaging, utility, and other facility equipment  

• Partner with operations to troubleshoot issues on process systems , utiliz ing machine manuals and schematics  

• Assist with maintaining utility operations including boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, water supply and HVAC systems  

• Document work ( PM checklists, work orders, permits, etc. ) and m aintain GMPs, safety and food safety standards  

• Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation  

Qualifications:  

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from and accredited institution and one of the following:  

• Two-year associates degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.) or equivalent  

• Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)  

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, or related role  

• Experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, metal work, and fabrication  

• Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime  

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility  

• Experience reading blueprints and schematics  

• Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding  

• Experience with power transmission components such as belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears  

• Experience with drill presses, lathes, Bridgeport-type mills  

• Experience with operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts   

Physical Requirements:    

Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:  

• Crouch, stoop, kneel, reach above shoulders, bend, balance, climb, work on ladder, push, pull, grasp, feel, perform fine manipulation, operate foot pedals, lift/carry, sit, stand and walk for extended periods  

• Work in dusty, high heat/humidity, and cold environments, and confined spaces   

• W ear a respirator as needed  

• M ake fine distinctions by sound  

• Communicate verbally and in writing, and distinguish objects or equipment visually  

Shift: 1:30pm-10pm or 9pm-7:30am Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday Starting Pay: $35.50/hr
