About this role

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
This role supports development of the MK2 lunar lander in the Lunar Permanence business unit.
In this role you will perform integrated system analysis to inform vehicle-level design decisions while also laying the foundation for continuous analysis updates as the design evolves. You will be a key resource for design engineers to understand the impact their proposed design changes have on the rest of the system.
This position requires a strong systems thinking skills, comfort in a fast-paced development environment, and the ability to apply change management discipline without slowing execution. You will work across all subsystems to ensure analysis remains aligned with configuration baselines, and provide development leadership with clear insight into analysis assumptions, system health, and technical risks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Serve as the integrating authority for propellant-consuming systems across the vehicle, acting as a trusted partner and technical negotiator between subsystem teams to resolve interface conflicts and ensure system-level compatibility. • Rapid execution and reporting of systems analysis to inform vehicle-level design changes. • Update and validate analytical models to scale with demand as analysis ramps up. • Develop analysis pipelines to leverage automation to keep analyses sync'd as development ramps up. • Work across business units to identify representative testing to inform analytical models. • Develop test objectives and success criteria to anchor analytical models. • Develop new analytical models, as needed, to inform
Minimum Qualifications • Passion for our mission: millions of people living and working in space!
• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in a design engineering discipline, or a closely related technical role.
• Demonstrated experience executing analysis activities in a complex system development environment.
• Strong experience identifying change impacts across and entire space vehicle, including technical, schedule, and risk dimensions.
• Experience working in a regulated environment (aerospace, government, nuclear, medical, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across engineering disciplines.
• Self-directed, highly organized, and capable of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to earn trust, influence without authority, and operate effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
• Spacecraft subsystem development, qualification, certification, or operations experience.
• Experience with Gitlab, MATLAB, python, PLM/CM tools, and lifecycle data management systems.
• Experience with system model development
• Experience with verification planning, evidence coordination, and verification closure notices.
• Familiarity with Windchill, Creo, Confluence, Jira, or similar tools.
• Experience developing and documenting processes and procedures.
• Experience working with configuration management of part libraries and complex product structures.
• Proficiency with data processing or automation tools (e.g., Python, advanced Excel).
• Familiarity with data analytics and visualization for program health reporting.
• Experience leveraging AI or automation to improve systems engineering or change management workflows
Base Pay Range for: CO applicants is $133,500.00 - $186,898.95
WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20 Other site ranges may differ
