About the Job.
JPI has an exciting opportunity for a Community Technology Project Coordinator to join our Community Technology team located in our Dallas office.
The Community Technology Project Coordinator assists the Senior Community Technology with research, design, design review, and coordination across JPI's multifamily development portfolio. The role focuses specifically on the low-voltage scope, including access control, CCTV, structured wiring, data, audio/video, smart building technology, ERRC, and EV infrastructure.
The position spans both design and construction phases, partnering with third-party design consultants, project teams, and vendors to ensure the delivered product is consistent with JPI standards, plans, and specifications.
Some prior experience in the design of low-voltage systems or installation of low-voltage systems is expected. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Coordination • Attends weekly design meetings to ensure low-voltage scope is represented and appropriately planned in drawings with third-party design consultants, including architects, MEP engineers, landscape architects, and interior designers.
• Designs low-voltage drawings while coordinating with interior and exterior low-voltage design consultants.
• Reviews low-voltage design drawings for adherence to standards, tracks edits, and identifies coordination issues.
• Reviews coordination issues (CI) and addresses them within five days.
• Give clear and direct direction to the CT Specialist and/or the outsourced teams to ensure elements are modeled correctly and drawing sheets are developed according to standards
• Assists in coordination of amenity layout in conjunction with DFX Managers, Investment Ownership and all project design consultants.
Design Review & Quality Control • Ensures JPI design standards are implemented across projects.
• Adds comments in ACC and in Procore as needed to identify missing devices, incorrect quantities, and drawing discrepancies.
• Logs design comments and confirms that corrections were made.
• Tracks multiple concurrent projects and open design-review comments through to resolution.
• Reviews BOMs, equipment schedules and device counts as part of all set reviews.
• Supports equipment selection research under the direction of the studio lead and helps to define new standards or modifications to existing standards on a yearly basis.
• Assists in coordination of fitness equipment standards in conjunction with DFX and vendors.
Technical Standards & Team Standards • Helps create and maintain standard details, design templates, SOPs, and technical documentation standards.
• Helps maintain the low-voltage master schedule, including design deadlines for each project's SD, DD, CD, and IFC sets.
• Maintains EV correspondence documents and requirements based on city and jurisdiction.
• Tracks low-voltage deliverables across the active project portfolio.
• Helps create regional standards for Community Technology design as we grow into new regions.
Construction Coordination • Assists the Senior Community Technology Manager in the construction administration project handover meeting.
• Attends periodic OAC meetings and site visits at different stages of construction to ensure the delivered product is consistent with plans and specifications, and identifies areas for recommended enhancement.
