Job Description:

Licensed Practical Nurse- Float (LPN) $5,000 Sign-On Bonus for New Hires!* Location: Bronx/Washington Heights, NY Hours: Mon-Fri 8.5hr shifts between 7:30am-6pm Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

In This Role, You Will: • Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses 

• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record

• Assist in maintaining the medical inventory;  place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff

• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments

• Escort patients to exam rooms

• Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets

• Assist physician with exams and/or procedures

• Prepare and administer Injections

• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens

• Perform point of care lab testing

• Perform EKGs

• Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error

• Must be willing and able to float throughout our Staten Island and Brooklyn Locations

We Require: • Current NYS LPN license required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

• Spanish-speaking preferred

• Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals.

• Experience with EMR’s

• Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs
