Program Manager Library Services - Medical Library - The Jewish Hospital
Job Summary • Conducts advanced literature searching of biomedical and nursing databases, including PubMed, CINAHL, Ovid Medline, the Cochrane Library, etc.
• Provides instruction on database searching and use of library resources
• Develops and maintains a virtual library collection, including selection, licensing, and integration of resources into library discovery system
• Initiates and maintains reciprocity/networking agreements with other library facilities
• Provides technology support to patrons and connects them with internal and external expert technical support as needed
• Educates hospital information technology staff about library technology needs/best practices and advocates for user centered integration of library resources in hospital systems
• Provides timely document delivery and interlibrary loan using Docline and other resource sharing methods
• Develops and maintains library website using Ovid Discovery and Libguides
• Provides fiduciary support of budget, expense forecasting, and subscription management.
Requirements: • Bachelors Degree - Business, Healthcare, or related field
• 3 years experience in a variety of medical and healthcare electronic database searching tools with the ability to conduct comparative online/web database
Preferred Requirements: • Master’s degree in Library Science
• Previous experience as a librarian in a healthcare setting
• Experience with library related technology and applications, including link resolvers, discovery systems, website development, proxy servers, etc.
