Job Description: DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Legal Operations   Manager ,   located   in Raynham, MA.  

The Legal Operations   Manager   supports the   DePuy Synthes   Legal   O rganization by   managing systems,   data   and software applications to execute core functions, including outside vendor relationships and payment s, matter ,   knowledge and training management , contracting systems and archives,   departmental communications,   litigation support tools,   and budgeting .    This role would support efforts of the General Counsel to   improv e   operational efficiency, enabl e   data ‑ driven   decision ‑ making ,   manage outside counsel and vendor costs,   and   optimize   technological tools, including the use of   AI applications and support special projects . This role plays a critical part in   enabling   the success of the Legal Organization by   permitting   Legal teams   to   focus on strategic,   high ‑ value   work   through   streaml in ed   systems , managing legal technology and vendors, and supporting financial and performance   objectives   of the Legal Organization . This is an exciting opportunity to have   broad   impact   on building the infrastructure for the new DePuy   Syntes   Legal   function .  

Key Responsibilities  

• Support   day ‑ to ‑ day   legal operations activities, including matter management, intake processes, payment   systems   and training resources .   •   Assist   with management of legal   spend , budgeting, forecasting, and invoice review in partnership with Finance.   • Support implementation and ongoing use of legal technology tools (e.g., matter management, e‑billing, contract lifecycle systems)   volume .   •   Coordinate with   and oversee   outside counsel   and   other   vendors, including onboarding, performance tracking, and compliance with billing guidelines.   • Develop and   maintain   dashboards   and   metrics   on Legal Organization operations as requested     •   Support process improvement initiatives to   optimize   legal output, including use of alternat e legal service providers, right   shoring   and use of   technology,   including     through   automated   legal services   or artific i al intelligence .   •   Assist   with development and maintenance of   Legal Organization   policies.  

Qualifications  

Education  

• Bachelor’s degree   required   (Business   Administration , Legal Studies, Finance, Operations, or related field preferred).  

Experience and Skills  

Required:   • 6-8 years of experience supporting Legal operations, Legal departments, or   other similar   professional services operations.   • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.   • Experience working with data, reports, and metrics to support operational decision‑making.  

•   Proficiency   with common business tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and comfort learning new systems.   • Strong written and verbal communication skills.   • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.  

Preferred:   • Experience with legal matter management, e‑billing, or contract lifecycle management systems.   • Experience supporting outside counsel management and legal spend analytics.   •   Experience with soliciting vendors through RFPs and RFIs.   • Experience driving or supporting process improvement initiatives.   • Familiarity   or experience   with project management methodologies or tools.  

Other:   • Certifications: Legal Operations or Project Management certifications preferred but not   required .

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
