Position Summary The Learning and Development Specialist in University Advancement at Washington University is responsible for driving organizational growth for University Advancement staff by scheduling, developing, facilitating, maintaining, and measuring the effectiveness of learning and development solutions.

The Learning and Development Specialist will serve as a member of the Organizational Development Team. This team is focused on improving individual and team performance and has expertise in providing staff with meaningful and relevant learning and development experiences. The Specialist will collaborate frequently with other members of the Organizational Development team.

The specialist is responsible for policies, procedures, and operations of learning content associated with Workday Learning (the University’s primary learning management system for employees). The specialist will design synchronous and asynchronous learning solutions, develop learning content and assets such as PowerPoints, worksheets, eLearnings, etc., collaborate with subject matter experts, facilitate virtual and in-person learnings, and assess results to gauge learning effectiveness.

The Specialist will ensure that all training is delivered at a high level of quality and will exhibit a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Course Development, Facilitation, and Production • Strategically create programming and lesson plans to meet the highest and current needs of University Advancement staff. • Design high-quality and effective learning materials, such as slide decks, worksheets, job aids, demo videos, and more, adhering to accessibility standards and team branding. • Effectively utilize technologies to drive learning, such as Microsoft Office, eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise and Camtasia/SnagIt, Mentimeter, and more. • Facilitate synchronous learning and development opportunities both in a classroom setting and on Zoom, driving active learning through group discussion, polls, activities, and knowledge checks.  • Serve as a producer for Zoom and hybrid sessions for guest speakers and peers, as needed. • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and guest presenters to ensure programming and support meets their needs.

Programming Governance • Load, schedule, and test courses in Workday Learning.

• Manage tracking and reporting activities related to participants, training sessions, and training results.

• Summarize session evaluations and share opportunities for continuous improvement. • Manage training material production and inventory of supplies, including overseeing training room setup and technology, classroom materials, and providing support for presenters. • Manage the scheduling and coordinating of ongoing training with minimal oversight. • Manage the yearly training calendar for University Advancement.

Perform other duties as assigned. • Collaborate effectively with other members of Organizational Development to provide programming support to UA staff.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience: Curriculum/Content Development And Workshop Facilitation With Developing Content (3 Years) Skills: Not Applicable Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.

This position is located in St. Louis, MO and the targeted hiring range for this position is $49,700 - $58,000.

Salary Range $49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
