The Lead Program Pricing Manager serves as a subject matter expert in pricing analysis, strategy, and optimization. This role is responsible for developing data-driven pricing recommendations that support revenue growth, profitability, and market competitiveness. The Pricing Specialist conducts pricing analyses, market assessments, and competitive evaluations to identify opportunities and influence pricing decisions across the organization.

Working closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations, this individual develops pricing models, monitors pricing performance, and provides actionable insights that drive effective pricing strategies and consistent pricing governance.

This is a hybrid position based in our Pittsburgh office.

Lead Program Pricing Manager Key Responsibilities:

Pricing Analysis & Optimization • Analyze pricing performance, sales data, margins, and market trends to identify pricing opportunities and risks.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models, tools, and analytical frameworks.

• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of pricing changes on revenue, profitability, and market share.

• Monitor key pricing metrics and performance indicators, providing recommendations to improve pricing effectiveness.

• Identify and investigate pricing discrepancies, exceptions, and trends, recommending corrective actions when needed.

• Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate pricing performance to leadership and stakeholders.

Pricing Strategy Development • Conduct competitive pricing analysis and market benchmarking to support strategic pricing decisions.

• Evaluate customer, market, and industry trends to identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin improvement.

• Partner with Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop pricing strategies for new products, services, and customer segments.

• Support the development and implementation of pricing policies, governance frameworks, and best practices.

• Continuously assess pricing effectiveness and recommend enhancements to improve commercial outcomes and customer value.

Market Intelligence & Research • Gather and analyze market, customer, and competitor insights to inform pricing and commercialization strategies.

• Assess market demand, competitive positioning, and customer willingness to pay.

• Identify emerging market trends and evaluate their impact on pricing decisions.

• Support strategic business initiatives through research, forecasting, and pricing recommendations.

Pricing Communication & Enablement • Communicate pricing strategies, updates, and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.

• Partner with Sales teams to ensure effective implementation of pricing initiatives and policies.

• Develop training materials, tools, and resources that support pricing discipline and consistency.

• Educate stakeholders on pricing principles, methodologies, and best practices.

• Provide ongoing support and guidance regarding pricing policies, tools, and processes.

Lead Program Pricing Manager Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing, pricing analytics, revenue management, financial analysis, commercial strategy, market intelligence, or a related field.

• Demonstrated expertise in one or more pricing disciplines, including: • Competitive pricing analysis

• Price optimization and modeling

• Margin and profitability analysis

• Pricing impact assessment

• Market and customer pricing research

• Revenue management

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and develop actionable recommendations.

• Experience developing pricing models, forecasting tools, business cases, and scenario analyses.

• Proficiency with analytical and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, or comparable platforms.

• Knowledge of pricing methodologies including value-based pricing, cost-plus pricing, competitive pricing, segmentation, and price elasticity concepts.

• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence decisions across multiple organizational levels.

• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
