Surrounded by committed, loyal colleagues, if you can dare to bring your ingenuity and desire to make an impact, you’ll be exposed to game-changing, diverse projects that truly allow you to play your part in the green energy transition.   Essential Responsibilities: The Lead Power System Engineer will play a key role in supporting projects execution, sales and business development by providing technical expertise in the design of electrification solutions for the EHV/HV Substations. This individual will be responsible for all power system studies and calculations utilizing power system software. • Independently perform in depth system studies listed below; and/or specify scope, review, comment, and direct/oversee 3rd party provider(s) for the studies below: • Main Circuit Parameters • Load Flow, Reactive Power Capability and Compensation, Power Factor Study • Short Circuit Study /Combined Short Circuit Ratio (CSCR) Study • Transient Switching and Insulation Coordination Study (including Transient Overvoltage and Recovery Voltage Analysis)Harmonic Performance/Stability Study • Transient Ride Through and Dynamic Performance Studies (DPS)  and other Design Studies using the Offline Simulation Tools • Overall System Performance Assessment Study • Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) and High Voltage Ride Through (HVRT) Study • Arc Flash Study • Cable Selection and Sizing

• Integration of dedicated studies for systems utilizing combined AC power sources; AC power sources include conventional generations, AC-BESS, turbines, and renewables. • Expertise in frequency and time-domain simulation tools, like PSCAD, PSS/E, ETAP, DigSilent PowerFactory, to perform system studies as detailed above or under desired characteristics section. • Excellent technical communication skills to provide guidance, analysis and reports in clear succinct manner to customers, project team and stakeholders. • Provide guidance and coordinate the engineering tasks to meet the project/tender requirement.

  Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering including power systems and power electronics subjects with proven professional experience and technical expertise in the field of power system engineering and preferably in AC substations and power plant System Studies. • Minimum 6 years’ experience of network or transient studies for conventional electric-energy generation / FACTS / renewable energy / inverter-based power systems in offshore wind, industrial, utility substations and grid interconnects.

Eligibility Requirements: • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including internationally, and comply with GE Vernova travel guidelines

  Desired Characteristics: • Professional engineering license and willing to review and seal your work and the work of others under your supervision. • M aster’s degree in electrical engineering including power systems and power electronics subjects with proven professional experience and technical expertise in the field of power system engineering. • Knowledge of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) compliance requirements and/or ISOs' interconnection or transmission planning guidelines. • Strong knowledge on medium high voltage substation North American standards & guidelines (IEEE & ANSI standards and codes such as the NEC and the NESC.), local grid codes and related equipment (safety, application, sizing, and integration).  Moreover, ability to engineer design packages when no clear customer specification is provided. • Working knowledge of applicable design calculations for primary & secondary equipment such as battery sizing & DC system component selection, power transformer and circuit breaker selection, circuit protection, control and power cable selection and rating, bus, fittings, insulator, and arrector selection, ground grid design, and lightning protection.
