The Role:

As a Pharmacy Fulfillment Operations Lead, you will support and supervise a team of pharmacy fulfillment technicians, helping to manage day-to-day dispensing workflows and queues under the guidance of senior leadership. This role is a strong foundation for developing operational and people management skills in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. We are looking for a motivated, positive and detail-oriented Lead who will assist with onboarding, coaching, and supporting technicians while upholding company policies, performance metrics, and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do:

Team Management & Development

• Support and manage a team of Pharmacy Technicians, helping to ensure quality patient and client care under the direction of senior leadership.

• Monitor workload distribution and flag imbalances to ensure efficient daily operations and that basic performance targets are met.

• Assist with new hire onboarding, helping technicians get acquainted with tools, workflows, and team expectations.

• Oversees all dock operations, enforcing safety protocols, coordinating inbound and outbound freight flow, and ensuring compliance with company standards to maintain a secure and efficient loading environment.

• Provide day-to-day coaching and feedback to technicians, supporting continuous improvement and skill development.

• Address underperformance promptly through coaching and improvement plans in partnership with People & Culture and senior leadership when necessary.

Operational Excellence

• Use available reporting and dashboards to track team performance and surface operational trends to leadership.

• Monitor workflow queues throughout the day to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time. Help maintain adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and communicate performance barriers promptly.

• Support the implementation of process changes by reinforcing new procedures with the team and flagging adoption challenges.

• Handle escalated patient concerns with professionalism and empathy, seeking guidance from senior leads on complex resolutions.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure team adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies in pharmacy operations.

• Review technician work periodically to identify accuracy issues and support quality improvement.

• Flag compliance risks or recurring errors to senior leadership for resolution.

Collaboration & Communication

• Keep the team informed of daily priorities, workflow updates, and policy changes.

• Communicate effectively with peers and senior leads to ensure alignment on goals and operational challenges.

Leadership & Problem-Solving

• Model professionalism, accountability, and a positive attitude for the team.

• Address routine escalations and day-to-day issues, escalating complex situations to senior leadership as needed.

• Promote a positive work environment that values teamwork, accountability, and employee satisfaction.

• Foster continuous growth by developing technicians and supporting their professional development; cultivate a positive, engaging work environment that inspires the team to excel and innovate.

What You Need:

• Leadership Experience : 2-3 years in an operational or team-support environment; prior supervisory experience a plus.

• Educational Background : Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered (minimum high school diploma or GED required).

• Industry Knowledge : Some familiarity with pharmacy, healthcare, or fulfillment operations; willingness to learn regulatory requirements and operational complexities.

• Operational Excellence : Experience supporting high-volume workflows and a demonstrated ability to stay organized under pressure.

• People Skills : Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to coach others and contribute to a positive team culture.

• Organizational Skills : Ability to manage competing priorities and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.

• Data & Technology Fluency : Comfortable using basic data tools and workflow platforms to track tasks and monitor performance.

• Analytical Thinking : Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset; ability to recognize patterns and surface issues proactively. .

• Performance Metrics : Basic familiarity with key performance indicators (KPIs) and an eagerness to learn how to use performance data to improve team outcomes. .

• Communication : Clear, professional communicator who can relay information effectively to a team and escalate appropriately.

• Regulatory Awareness : General awareness of compliance in healthcare or pharmacy settings is a plus.

• Technical Proficiency : Comfortable with standard office software and willing to learn in queue management and workflow platforms.
