About this role

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Compliance Officer to join the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Markets Compliance team. Reporting to the Head of Equities Compliance, this role will provide second-line compliance oversight for the Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) activities of Wells Fargo Securities, LLC.

This position plays a critical role in overseeing and advancing the Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) compliance program. The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, provide independent oversight of trading and clearing activities, and serve as a trusted advisor to business leadership on key compliance and regulatory matters.

In this role, you will: • Provide second-line compliance oversight of Wells Fargo Securities' Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) activities.

• Execute and enhance the FCM compliance program, including risk assessments, monitoring, governance, reporting, and risk management frameworks.

• Advise business partners on FCM regulatory requirements, business initiatives, and compliance risks.

• Provide independent oversight and credible challenge of business activities and compliance risk management practices.

• Monitor, escalate, and support the remediation of compliance issues, regulatory matters, and control deficiencies.

• Interpret applicable regulations and internal policies, providing guidance to business and control partners.

• Partner with Front Line, Risk, Legal, Audit, and other stakeholders to identify and manage compliance risks.

• Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, and interactions with futures exchanges and regulatory agencies.

• Prepare compliance reporting for senior management and governance committees, including the annual Chief Compliance Officer Report.

• Oversee compliance risks associated with futures trading, clearing, regulatory reporting, position limits, and customer protection requirements.

• Develop and maintain compliance training and educational content.

Required Qualifications, US: • 5+ years of Compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications: • Deep knowledge of FCM regulatory regimes including, but not limited to the CFTC, NFA, CME and associated compliance risk management programs.

• Compliance advisory experience supporting FCM business, trading, clearing, and operational activities.

• Experience interfacing with futures regulators and exchanges on matters involving a clearing FCM.

• Experience executing enterprise compliance programs and implementing regulatory change initiatives.

• Deep understanding of FCM regulatory reporting, segregation requirements, and position limit frameworks.

• Organizational courage and willingness to make tough, informed decisions and thoughtfully share independent perspectives.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to ask insightful questions, present ideas clearly and persuasively, and foster collaboration across teams.

• An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision-making.

• Proven ability to cultivate relationships and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and constituencies, including business leaders, legal, audit and multiple U.S. and non-U.S. regulators.

• Knowledge of futures, options on futures, and cleared derivatives products.         

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive sound risk management outcomes in a complex regulatory environment.

• This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule.

• This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

• This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to compliance with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

• Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities and/or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired. Pay Range   Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $143,000.00 - $224,000.00 Benefits
