About this role

Become a part of our caring community   The Junior Business Information Architect supports the enterprise's information landscape by helping maintain and apply data definitions, metadata, and business glossary standards under the guidance of senior architects. This role assists in the documentation and upkeep of data models, taxonomies, and glossary content, contributing to data quality, consistency, and the day-to-day operations of the enterprise data governance program. The incumbent works closely with senior team members to build foundational expertise in information architecture and data governance practices.

Key Responsibilities  

1. Information Architecture & Ontology Support  

• Assist in documenting and maintaining business glossary terms, definitions, and simple data models under the direction of senior architects.  

• Support the upkeep of existing conceptual and domain-level data models, helping ensure they remain current and accurate.  

• Help gather business terminology and definitions from stakeholders for review and validation by senior team members.  

2. Metadata Management & Data Governance Support  

• Assist Data Stewards and Data Owners in entering, updating, and organizing metadata within governance tools.  

• Support routine data quality checks and help identify gaps or inconsistencies in metadata and glossary entries for escalation.  

• Help maintain metadata management tools by performing basic configuration, data entry, and reporting tasks.  

3. Collaboration & Communication  

• Participate in meetings with business stakeholders, data stewards, and technical teams to gather requirements and clarify business terms.  

• Support senior architects in translating basic business concepts into structured glossary entries and documentation.  

• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.  

4. Standards & Documentation  

• Follow established enterprise standards for naming conventions, metadata taxonomy, and documentation practices.  

• Help maintain documentation related to governance policies, procedures, and glossary standards.  

• Support internal audits by helping compile documentation and verifying basic data lineage information.  

5. Quality & Continuous Learning  

• Assist in identifying inconsistencies in data definitions and escalate issues to senior architects for resolution.  

• Support data quality and compliance efforts by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.  

• Actively pursue professional development opportunities to build skills in information architecture, semantic modeling, and data governance.  

Use your skills to make an impact   Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems , Data Management, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).  

•  0–3 years of experience in information architecture, data governance, data management, or a related discipline.  

• Basic understanding of metadata management and business glossary concepts.  

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  

• Good written and verbal communication skills.  

Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in Information Systems , Data Management, Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).  

• Exposure to data modeling concepts, taxonomies, or basic ontology structures.  

• Coursework or introductory experience with knowledge graph concepts (e.g., RDF, OWL) is a plus.  

• Interest  in pursuing certifications (e.g., CDMP) or further education in data governance.  

• Experience working in a team environment with cross-functional stakeholders.

Scheduled Weekly Hours

40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.   $80,900 - $110,300 per year   This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
