About Harbinger

Harbinger is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company on a mission to transform an industry starving for innovation. Harbinger’s best-in-class team of EV, battery, and drivetrain experts have pooled their deep experience to bring a first-of-its-kind EV platform to support the growing demand for medium-duty EVs and Hybrids. Harbinger: Familiar Form, Revolutionary Foundation.

Role Summary: We are seeking an entry-level IT and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Support Technician to join our primary day-shift team. As the frontline IT presence on the factory floor, you will ensure our production lines run smoothly by resolving immediate hardware and software issues. Because you will be working during peak operational hours, you will also collaborate closely with on-site engineers, maintenance, and plant management to escalate complex issues and assist with deploying new system features.

Key Responsibilities:

• Frontline MES Support: Act as the primary onsite point of contact for machine operators, supervisors, and production staff experiencing issues with the MES or traceability systems.

• Hardware & Device Deployment/Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot, repair, and deploy factory floor hardware, including barcode scanners, label printers, thin clients, tablets, and operator workstations.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with process engineers, QA, and senior IT staff to investigate recurring system issues and test new MES configurations on the floor.

• Ticket Management: Create, triage, and resolve help desk tickets in real-time, ensuring detailed documentation of the root cause and the fix.

• Basic IT Administration: Perform routine IT tasks such as password resets, managing Active Directory user accounts, and testing local network connectivity.

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine daily checks on critical floor IT equipment to identify and resolve potential failures before they impact production.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (an Associate’s degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is a strong plus).

• IT Fundamentals: Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11 troubleshooting, PC hardware, and standard office applications.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize multiple urgent requests in a fast-paced, high-traffic manufacturing environment.

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively translate technical issues between production staff and senior engineering teams.

• Availability: Must be able to work the standard first shift, with occasional flexibility for early morning start times or crossover meetings.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Previous exposure to a manufacturing or plant floor environment.

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and how MES applications connect with factory equipment.

• Familiarity with basic networking concepts (IP addresses, switches, and routers).

Work Environment: This role requires being onsite 100% of the time on the manufacturing floor. It involves walking the plant floor, standing, communicating over ambient factory noise, and occasionally lifting basic IT equipment (like printers or monitors). Key Benefits & Perks:

• Comprehensive Health, Dental & Vision (HDV) – 100% employee covered

• Early-stage Stock Options

• Robust Retirement Savings (401k, HSA, FSA)

• Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) & Parental Leave

• Annual Vacation Bonus

• Wellness & Fertility Benefits

• Cell Phone Stipend

• Complimentary Meals & Stocked Kitchens

California Pay Range $25 — $30 USD
