Job Description As an Instructional Designer, you create high‑quality learning solutions that enable performance, build capability, and support learning in the flow of work. You translate business needs and subject‑matter expertise into structured, accessible, and engaging learning experiences using established standards, tools, and design practices.
Instructional Designers collaborate with learning partners, facilitators, and stakeholders to diagnose performance needs, shape learning solutions, and ensure content is accurate, relevant, and ready for delivery. You are responsible for the end-to-end learning lifecycle appropriate to your level, including design, build, quality, accessibility, and consistency across learning assets while continuously improving solutions based on feedback, data, and evolving learner needs. As design tools and technologies evolve, including AI‑powered authoring and analytics, you apply them thoughtfully to improve speed, quality, and effectiveness.
Successful candidate for this role will have: Advanced proficiency with authoring tools plus comfort using AI‑enabled tools for drafting, tagging, and light automation to improve speed and quality. Strong grasp of adult learning, scenario‑based design, and practice‑first approaches with the ability to apply them across learning modalities. Confident SME facilitation, stakeholder communication, and feedback handling, including the ability to challenge solution assumptions and recommend appropriate design approaches. Solid accessibility practice (WCAG) including reviews and remediation. Ability to interpret dashboards/analytics, run small tests, and iterate learning solutions based on feedback and performance insights quickly. Familiarity with an LMS and LXP platforms, with the ability to design within platform constraints and align course structure to delivery requirements. Strong communication and partnership skills. Openness to using new technology, adapting to faster design cycles and evolving design practices. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. Three to five years of instructional design experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design and Build Learning Solutions • Design, build, and update learning assets using approved templates, tools, and standards to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. • Translate SME input, business requirements, and source materials into structured learning experiences, including courses, modules, job aids, and practice activities that address performance gaps, not just content needs. • Apply adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and inclusive design practices across all deliverables.
Collaborate and Partner • Partner with Learning Consultants, facilitators, and stakeholders to clarify scope, constraints, and align learning solutions to business and learner needs. • Participate in reviews, quality checks, and refinement cycles to ensure learning solutions meet expectations before launch. • Support alignment between design intent and delivery by collaborating with facilitation and learning partners.
Manage Quality, Process, and Updates • Maintain clean files, version history, documentation, and tracking in approved systems and workflows. • Identify content gaps, risks, or improvement opportunities and contribute to solution refinement. • Review learner feedback, facilitator insights, and available data to continuously improve learning effectiveness.
Use Tools and Technology Effectively • Use authoring tools, learning platforms, and approved AI‑enabled design tools to accelerate development, improve quality, and support tagging, updates, and maintenance at scale. • Apply human judgment and quality assurance to AI‑generated outputs to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with standards. • Stay current with evolving design practices, tools, and technologies and apply them appropriately to improve outcomes.
Contribute to Team Capability • Share knowledge, insights, and best practices that strengthen design quality and consistency across the team. • Support onboarding, peer learning, and continuous improvement efforts as needed.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience - Six or more years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow standards and processes.
• Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design practices, with the ability to apply them consistently.
• Ability to review feedback, interpret basic data or insights, and apply learnings to improve design outcomes.
• Strong written communication, collaboration, and professionalism.
