Job Summary The Instructional Designer supports the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of learning solutions that enable Global Operational Excellence initiatives across Equinix. This role partners with subject matter experts (SMEs), project teams, and business stakeholders to develop engaging, learner-centered training programs that support operational excellence, process adoption, and employee capability development.  

The successful candidate will apply instructional design principles, adult learning methodologies, and learning technologies to create effective learning experiences delivered through multiple modalities, including eLearning, virtual instructor-led training (VILT), instructor-led training (ILT), job aids, performance support tools, and digital learning resources.

Responsibilities Learning Needs Analysis & Design   • Partner with SMEs and business stakeholders to identify learning needs and training requirements. 

• Conduct training needs analyses to determine learning objectives and performance outcomes. 

• Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to develop effective learning solutions. 

• Recommend appropriate training modalities based on learning goals, audience needs, and business requirements. 

Instructional Design & Content Development • Design, develop, and maintain engaging learning content across various delivery methods, including eLearning, instructor-led training, virtual training, microlearning, job aids, and knowledge resources. 

• Develop learning objectives, assessments, facilitator guides, learner materials, and supporting documentation. 

• Translate complex operational processes and procedures into clear, user-friendly learning materials. 

• Ensure all learning content aligns with established instructional design standards, branding guidelines, and accessibility requirements. 

• Review and update training materials to ensure relevance and accuracy 

Training Program Support & Delivery • Support the deployment of global training programs and operational excellence initiatives. 

• Facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions as needed. 

• Coordinate Train-the-Trainer activities and support trainers with learning materials and delivery resources. 

• Ensure all learning assets are tested and deployment-ready prior to launch

Learning Technology & LMS Administration   • Develop, publish, test, and maintain SCORM-compliant learning content within the Learning Management System (LMS).  

Project Coordination   • Support learning and development projects from initiation through implementation. 

• Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines to ensure successful execution. 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and coordinate project activities. 

• Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and dependencies. 

Learning Analytics & Continuous Improvement   • Monitor training completion rates, learner feedback, assessment results, and other training metrics. 

• Generate reports and analyze learning data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. 

• Make recommendations to enhance learner engagement, knowledge retention, and training effectiveness. 

• Support training evaluation activities to measure learning outcomes and program success. 

Qualifications

Required  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 

• 2-4 years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, training, or a related field. 

• Experience applying instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles. 

• Experience developing learning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar platforms. 

• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM standards. 

• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills. 

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools. 

Preferred  • Experience supporting operational excellence, process improvement, quality, or business transformation initiatives. 

• Experience working in a global and matrixed organization. 

• Knowledge of learning evaluation methodologies and learning analytics. 

• Experience facilitating instructor-led or virtual training sessions. 

• Familiarity with change management and employee adoption practices. 

• Basic project management experience or certification. 

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 61,200 - 91,800 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
