WHO ARE WE? Insomniac produces some of the most innovative, immersive music festivals and events in the world. Enhanced by state-of-the-art lighting, pyrotechnics and sound design, large-scale art installations, theatrical performers and next generation special effects, our events captivate the senses and inspire a unique level of fan interaction. Insomniac produces 10,000 concerts, club nights and festivals for seven million attendees annually across the globe. Since its inception, Insomniac’s events have taken place in 13 countries across five continents. The company’s premiere annual event, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, is the world’s largest dance music festival and attracts more than 525,000 fans over three days. The company was founded by Pasquale Rotella and has been based in Los Angeles since it was formed in 1993.
THE ROLE The Site Experience Crew Member is responsible for ensuring the success of the event installations by performing the technical and physical aspects related to festival production and scenic installation. This position will report to Crew Leads and Project Managers. This is not a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES • Performs the load-in and out of department equipment and elements
• Assist with audio/lighting cabling as needed
• Responsible for communicating details of the event to crew leads
• Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment and props
• Comply with company and OSHA safety regulations
• Operate and care for work areas in a safe, clean manner
• Project a professional image by working steadily, being a team player and being responsible for personal actions
• Safely operate various types of utility vehicles and heavy equipment with appropriate certification
• Follow all company and department policies
• Follow written and verbal directives
• Use various hand and power tools
• Identify any faulty equipment and damaged materials and report to Crew Lead or Project Manager
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
QUALIFICATIONS • 1+ year(s) minimum festival, concert, tour, or production experience
• must possess a valid and current driver license
• must possess a valid and current U.S. passport
• ability to operate equipment such as forklift, boom lift, scissor lift etc. not required but preferred
• ability to use hand tools, saws, etc.. in a safe manner
• must be highly motivated and possess interpersonal communication skills
• working knowledge of web and mobile technologies as well as two-way radio
• must possess working mobile device, preferably smart phone
• Must be able to lift and move objects weighing 50lbs or more
• Ability to move, lift, stand, and work for extended periods of 10-14 hours
• OSHA 10 required
WORK ENVIRONMENT • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
• May work in drastic temperature climates
• Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours and travel to events, as required, to meet deadlines
