About this role

The Opportunity:

NuSil is seeking an Industrial Security Director / Head of Product Security to oversee industrial security programs and lead the security organization that supports our high-performance silicones business serving the Aerospace & Defense industries.

This position reports to a member of the NuSil executive leadership team and will be based in Carpinteria, California. What we’re looking for   • Education: Bachelor's degree (Political Science, Legal Studies, Computer Science, Cybersecurity) with 12 years of Industrial Security or related experience – or – Graduate degree with 10 years of relevant Industrial Security experience.

Experience: • Must have detailed working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) / 32 CFR Part 117, NIST SP 800-53/171, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). • Must be a U.S. citizen. • Must have and be able to maintain an active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance. • Demonstrated understanding and implementation of security programs and processes is required. • Excellent verbal and written communication. Strong interpersonal skills as required to effectively collaborate with executive leadership, customer representatives, suppliers, and associates. • Experience leading or mentoring other personnel in a team environment .

Certifications : FSO, ISP, CPP

Preferred Qualifications:    • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. • Possesses comprehensive understanding and proficient knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and relevant NIST standards for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (NIST SP 800-171/172). • Understanding and familiarity with DD-254 Implementation Requirements. • OPSEC program experience. • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced and challenging work environment and must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. • Demonstrated positive working relationships with internal and external customers. • Ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion.

• Ability to maintain flexibility to deal with changing priorities and deadlines.

How you will thrive and create an impact   • Plans and implements security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines aligned with corporate and current government requirements. • Develops and guides program implementation to minimize security risks, liabilities, and losses related to personnel, facilities, classified information, foreign travel, and corporate assets. • Develops and supports information assurance and security programs focused on the protection of classified, proprietary, and sensitive information. • Advises and assists executive leadership, functional partners, and security personnel on security-related matters, risk mitigation, and compliance requirements. • Interprets government security requirements and works with customer and U.S. Government representatives to resolve security-related issues and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. • Serves as a primary liaison with state and federal law enforcement, intelligence, investigative, and security agencies, as well as internal stakeholders, on matters requiring security coordination and support. • Manages and maintains the security incident response plan, technology control plan, material handling plan, and other critical security-focused plans. • Coordinates and conducts investigations and inquiries in collaboration with facility security and HR; addressing concerns related to fraud, theft, threats, violations of security policies and procedures, and ethical conduct; documents findings and provides recommendations as appropriate. • Develop and maintain security education and training programs ensuring a high level of organizational awareness of security requirements and best practices. • Lead a team of security professionals to ensure consistent application of the leadership characteristics that are expected of all employees within the organization. • Ensure Security department performance objectives and milestones/KPIs are clearly defined, individual team member goals align with department/business priorities, and deliverables are met. • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency: The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $153,500.00 - $258,750.00 Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
