We are looking for an Immigration Program Manager to support Figma's growing Immigration and Global Mobility programs.

In this role you will serve as a primary point of contact for visa-sponsored Figmates, managing immigration cases and compliance while providing a high-touch employee experience. You'll also support international relocations and broader global mobility programs and get exposure to M&A and international expansion.

You'll partner closely with immigration counsel and teams across People, Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and Payroll to improve our processes, resources, reporting, budgeting, vendor management, and program administration.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:

• Serve as primary contact for Figmates and stakeholders on immigration inquiries, visa assessments, case status, and strategy

• Manage a high-volume immigration case portfolio - including permanent residence processes (PERM, I-140, AOS, ILR) — across US, EMEA, JAPAC, and LATAM

• Coordinate with outside immigration counsel on case petition preparation, timelines, RFE responses, audits, and compliance matters

• Track and proactively manage work authorization expirations across the foreign national population, ensuring timely renewals and escalations

• Partner with People Partners and Talent Acquisition to assess immigration sponsorship feasibility for new hires and internal transfers

• Develop and maintain Figmate-facing immigration resources, FAQs, playbooks, and compliance documentation (PAF, etc.), and design training for key stakeholders and Figmates globally

• Monitor regulatory changes and manage internal reporting, trackers, dashboards, and I-9 compliance efforts, serving as internal POC for I-9 escalations

• Coordinate international relocations and participate in global mobility, People M&A, and international expansion initiatives

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• 5+ years of experience managing immigration for EMEA, APAC, and AMER at a global technology company or employment-based immigration law firm

• Deep subject-matter expertise in U.S. nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories (H-1B CAP & cap-exempt, L-1, O-1, TN, OPT, PERM, EB-1/EB-2, AOS, EADs)

• Experience managing multiple vendors and supporting complex immigration matters, including international relocations and/or assignments

• Experience with People Ops-related compliance projects, with interest in contributing beyond the immigration and global mobility functions

• Exceptional project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into crisp written and verbal communication

While it's not required, it's an added plus if you also have:

• Experience supporting immigration needs related to M&A activity

• Strong expertise in Singapore immigration and the COMPASS framework

• Working knowledge of international assignment management, including assignment design, cost projections, tax equalization, and assignee lifecycle support

• Familiarity with cross-border tax concepts - including hypo tax, shadow payroll, and equity income sourcing for mobile employees and expatriates — and equity income sourcing mechanics for RSUs and stock options

• Experience managing business traveler compliance programs, including short-term assignment tracking and permanent establishment risk identification

At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
