Air Liquide is hiring for a HSES Manager in Santa Ana, CA.

The Health, Safety, Environmental, & Security (HSES) Manager will be responsible to oversee all of the administration duties within the Turbo HSES department, ensuring that all employees work within a safe, healthy and secure work environment.

Job Responsibilities: • Oversee AL turbo division HSES programs, including training, industrial hygiene, and safety compliance auditing.

• Preparing, monitoring and keeping current all safety policies and reviews existing policies on an annual basis and reporting any gaps thereof. 

• Respond to safety concerns and alerts in a timely manner, including accident investigations and reporting to management as required.

• Tracking all environmental compliance metrics and completing all sampling and reporting as required.

• Provide a management team with HSE metrics regularly to identify trends, gaps, and risks.

• Maintain up to date knowledge of all federal and state laws, regulations and standards for employee’s health and safety as well as current environmental requirements. (Cal/OSHA,Cal/EPA, DTSC, AQMD, OSHA, EPA, CUPA, OCSD, & OCFA)

• Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken when health and safetyhazards exist

Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety/hygiene, occupational health, environmental studies/science, or related discipline is required.

• Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

• Professional certification (ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, CQM, CQE) is preferred.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the environmental, health and safety (HSE) field.

• Experience writing technical business policies, procedures, and reports.

• Manufacturing environment experience is highly preferred.

• Able to effectively work across functional lines.

• Requires ability to analyze and quickly react to emergency situations while maintaining composure and professionalism. 

• Proficient with Google and Microsoft Suites (Sheets/Excel, Gmail/Outlook, Slides/Powerpoint etc.) 

• Must have high-level organizational and planning skills so that workflow is managed efficiently and accurately; must be able to set priorities, take initiative and exercise sound independent judgment. 

• Work independently without extensive direction or oversight. 

• Requires excellent oral and written skills, and an ability to effectively communicate ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

• Ability to evaluate HSE programs and practices and make sound recommendations for improvement.

• Thorough knowledge of practices and methods for developing and administering a comprehensive HSE program, including designing employee training programs.

• Must be proficient in performing HSE assessments to identify workplace hazards and determining appropriate control measures.

• Ability to conduct accident and workplace safety audits and investigations required.

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $100,000 - $120,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Air Liquide considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
