Summary of Job Duties: The Bus Operator will drive a transit bus on campus and city streets to safely transport members of the campus community and the general public on fixed scheduled bus routes. This position will perform a prescribed pre-operational safety maintenance check, as well as accumulate and record statistics for daily reports on fixed route service. Other duties as assigned.

Regular, non-disruptive, and reliable attendance is an essential job duty, as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Razorback Transit offers paid CDL training to help you obtain the required Commercial Driver’s License for this position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: • Must be able to pass DOT physical examination and obtain a DOT medical examiners certificate

• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

• Age 18 or older

• A valid Driver’s License in good standing

Preferred Qualifications: • CDL Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement

• Experience operating a large 35 and 40-foot transit vehicle on city streets in fixed route service

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Knowledge of DOT/CDL regulations

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to work with and learn technology

• Ability to succeed in a diverse working environment

• Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally

Additional Information: Razorback Transit provides paid CDL training to obtain the required Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for this position. The cost of testing materials is reimbursed upon the successful completion of the written and skills test for the CDL license.

The base work schedule for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday during Peak Service Hours. Saturday is a mandatory work day. Overtime work/pay is available and/or required.

Peak Service:  (Monday - Saturday) • 6:30am- 12:30PM

• 12:30pm-6:30PM

• 6:30PM to 10:30PM 

Non-Peak: (Monday - Saturday) • 6:30AM-1:30PM

• 1:30PM-8:30PM
