Location:   Silverdale,  Washington   (Bangor)  

Type:   Non-Exempt  

Work Schedule:   Full-time , Day Shift  

Compensation :   $51.75-51.75 / hr

Tessera   is seeking a n experienced   and   detailed Heavy Equipment Mechanic (EVT III)   with a positiv e   attitude.   

Typical duties include but are not limited to:   

• Perform maintenance of equipment to include, but not limited to,   Aircraft   Rescue &   Fire-Fighting   (ARFF) vehicles, Fire Apparatus vehicles, wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment.  

• Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined in   established   technical manuals and IAW National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.  

• Perform inspection and   repair on   brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, and steering systems IAW with OEM recommendations and NFPA standards.  

• Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring, and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper diagnosis and repair during annual services.  

• Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and installation of   assemblies   and installation of components.  

• Maintain Operational Vehicle Maintenance schedules.  

• Responsible for various reports- i.e., schedules, training, attendance, evaluations, various employee documentations, correct time keeping, and accident reports.  

• Train employees on job tasks and assignments to ensure complete understanding of   work   assigned.  

• Monitor employee performance to ensure efficient use of time and performance of work tasks.  

• Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.  

• Coach, mentor, and resolve employee concerns in a respectful and mutually beneficial manner.  

• Monitor employees to ensure efficient use of time, performance, and understanding of work tasks.  

• Record daily personnel attendance and track employee absences, tardiness, etc.  

• Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.  

Qualifications:    

• Minimum of five (5) years of vehicle maintenance experience   required .  

• ASE (T-1 through T-7, and L-2) certification or the ability to obtain one required.  

• EVT (F-1 through F-6 and A-1 through A-3) Level III Fire Apparatus and ARFF vehicle technician certification or the ability to obtain one required.  

Physical Requirements:  

Employees must have the ability to   perform   the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without   assistance . The physical demands of this position may be   reasonably accommodated   for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis .    

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to   45   pounds.  

• May be   required   to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.  

• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be   required .   

• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.  

 Requirements:    

• A valid state driver’s license is   required   with the ability to obtain and   maintain   coverage by   Tessera’s   insurance.
