The Head of Global Talent Rewards is globally responsible for the strategy and execution of benefits, wellness, broad-based and executive compensation. Reporting to Tricia Yankovich, Fastly’s Chief People Officer, the Head of Global Total Rewards is a close strategic partner to the leadership team to develop innovative and equitable programs aimed at attracting and retaining world-class talent. In this role, you’ll leverage a proactive and innovative approach to ensure our rewards are aligned with our culture, are valued by our employees, and drive business results. This leader will ensure all compensation (executive and broad-based) and benefits and wellness programs align with the strategic goals of Fastly. This leader will not only direct the planning, design, implementation, maintenance and administration of the global Total Rewards programs but also be a thought leader to connect Total Rewards with driving company performance in support of Fastly’s rapid growth.
This person will be a change leader and manager who thrives on continuous improvement within an entrepreneurial environment—laser-focused on exceptional customer service and creating a consistent global employee experience while driving innovation to create an atmosphere that supports new ideas and initiative. This leader will possess strong executive presence as they will interact extensively with the compensation committee/board of directors.
Given Fastly’s growth, this leader will have a proven track record of creating innovative, industry leading rewards strategies and programs on a global scale and will need to be comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, have depth of expertise in executive compensation program design and governance, but also be a hands-on manager and “do-er”.
What you’ll do:
• Architect and execute a competitive, end-to-end Total Rewards strategy that aligns with Fastly's overall talent agenda
• Collaborate effectively with a wide variety of internal stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, senior management, internal clients, the People leadership team, and develop/mentor the compensation/benefit team members
• Serve as an integral member of the HR Leadership team advising on programs impacting the organization as a whole and collaborating with HR Business Partners to understand and address the unique needs of their various client groups.
• Leverage knowledge of market conditions and competitive talent landscape to design tailored strategies for compensation concerning key talent segments
• Stay on top of total rewards trends and offerings to ensure Fastly’s offerings are fresh, modern, and competitive, culturally relevant around the globe, while aligned with our business strategies
• Manage and oversee the design, implementation, administration, maintenance, and reporting of executive and equity compensation programs and initiatives
• Prepare materials for Fastly’s Compensation Committee and Board of Directors as needed
• Direct studies and analysis and engage resources such as external consultants, as needed, to inform the resolution of Total Rewards related questions and issues
• Evaluate employee recognition approaches based on best practices and employee engagement objectives; recommend enhancements and partner with other People leaders in support of an integrated talent agenda, particularly with respect to recruiting, learning and development, performance management, compensation, and recognition
• Collaborate with benefits providers on renewals or service bids, utilization experience, cost management, and plan design options; review vendors' performance and recommend changes to management
• Provide strategic direction, planning, and execution of Fastly’s compensation and benefits programs including health and welfare, 401K/retirement, time-off and flexibility, disability plans, and other various perks
• Review the mix of benefits/wellness offerings to employees and assess their effectiveness; make recommendations to vary offerings based on current best practices, cost, and utility of benefits to employees and create a similar global employee experience.
• Manage the effective communication of compensation, benefits, and wellness programs to achieve employee awareness, understanding, and appreciation of program offerings
• Ensure all programs are administered in compliance with regulations nationally including the management of all compliance filings, reports, and audits related to the administration of employee compensation programs either directly or through vendor and partners
• Confer with legal team or outside counsel on legal aspects of plan design, administration, or contested cases.
