About this role

Job Description:

Milwaukee Tool is searching for   a   Group Platform Manager- Cordless Products   to   join and expand   our   Cordless   Platform Management team ,   lead ing   the strategy ,   definition ,   and evolution of   our cordless systems.  

This role   is   responsible for   managing   our cordle ss systems as products   by translating   cordless system   stakeholder   needs   into   a clear roadmap of system   capabilities an d defined   performance tiers . You will partner closely with   our   product category leaders , system engineers, and fellow platform   managers to ensure our cordless systems   deliver   best-in-class   experiences   and products that drive   growth across the business .    

This is a highly cross-functional   role that requires strong leadership, systems thinking, and the ability to align   product category teams   and engineering teams around a shared vision for our cordless systems .  

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:  

System Strategy  

• Lead   d efin ing   and driv ing   a   long-term vision   and strategy   of our M12 system that   supports   the product   category   and company strategies.  

• Translate end-user and business stakeholder   needs into system capabilities , performance targets, and user experience expectations  

Stakeholder Needs Subject Matter Expert  

• Lead efforts   to establish a deep understanding of how end -users evaluate investing   in   a cordless   power tool system  

• Translate   data-backed   field research into   actionable   problem statements   that drive system   and business value  

Commercial   System   Roadmap Ownership  

• Build and maintain   a commercial & business outcomes-based roadmap   that   maximizes   the commercial impact   of the   proposed system upgrades  

• Lead   commercial and business   s ystem   initiatives from initial concept   through scoping , product adoption commitment , launch, a nd future improvements  

• Ensure   platforms and capabilities a re designed   to support   future improvements and product coverage  

Product Management Collaboration  

• Partner with   business   units   to   ensure   they can build the best products while   upholding   the   end-user and business expectations of the system  

• Serve as the system champion, driving commercial launch objectives and success metrics for new and enhanced capabilities  

Cross-Functional Leadership  

• Collaborate with   engineering   &   product   management   leaders   to define and deliver   system upgrades    

• Align critical stakeholders around initiative priorities, trade-offs, and launch timing  

Platform Governance  

• Define and maintain system standards for compatibility and   shared   user experiences across   our systems  

• Work with product management leaders to b alance driving   system consistency with   product category differentiation  

People Leadership  

• Establish a strong culture of extreme ownership, accountability,   system thinking, and a user-first mindset    

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, product development, or another customer-oriented related field is recommended.  

• 10 +   years of experience in   product   and/or platform management .  

• Experience influencing and aligning stakeholders without direct authority  

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills  

• Solid customer orientation, core understanding of the user lifecycle   journey   and user needs, and how user insight and user strategy drive experience .    

• Strong planning and organizational skills required with the demonstrated ability to balance competing demands.    

• Ability to travel 25-30% of the year.  

• Proficiency in PC skills including MS Office and Internet usage is required.  

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:  

• Experience in Agile   frameworks,   phase-gate   processes   framework .  

• Basic technical understanding of power tool technology.  

• Experience working   on hardware systems, product ecosystems, or platforms
