There may be the opportunity to renew this position based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue.
Purpose The Graduate Student Associate supports the Dell Medical School Enterprise Project Management Office with project coordination, reporting, communications and meeting administration. The position offers a graduate student practical experience applying project management principles while gaining exposure to enterprise initiatives within an academic health and healthcare environment.
Responsibilities • Project Tracking and Documentation - Assist Project Managers with maintaining project plans, action-item trackers, milestone schedules, risk and issue logs and other project documentation using established EPMO templates.
• Meeting Coordination - Support the scheduling and coordination of project meetings, workshops and EPMO events.
• Reporting and Presentation Support - Assist the Project Coordinator with the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly project updates using EPMO templates.
• EPMO Operations and Special Projects - Provide administrative support for EPMO initiatives, planning sessions and internal process-improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications • Current enrollment and good academic standing in a graduate degree program at The University of Texas at Austin.
• Ability to work up to 15 hours per week during the academic semester. Possibly more during holiday breaks.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate and well-organized notes, reports and other professional documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Ability to work independently with general direction and collaboratively within a team.
• Must work in office at the Health Transformation Building.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications • Graduate coursework in business administration, healthcare administration, public health, public affairs, information science, communications, or a related field.
• Interest in project management, healthcare operations, academic medicine or organizational improvement.
• Familiarity with foundational project management concepts, including milestones, deliverables, risks, issues and action-item tracking.
• Experience supporting projects, programs, research initiatives, student organizations or administrative operations.
• Experience preparing meeting agendas, capturing decisions and action items, or coordinating meeting logistics.
• Experience developing presentations, dashboards, status reports or executive-level summaries.
• Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Smartsheet or other project and collaboration tools.
Salary Range $24.00 Hourly
