About this role
Getting to know GH&B • Global Hospital & Biosimilars (GH&B) makes the products that are the foundation of hospital care – sterile injectables and biosimilars – that reach more than 100 million patients annually, generating $5 billion in revenue for Pfizer. These are not niche products; they are for when patients are at the most vulnerable, essential to access and acute care delivery worldwide. • GH&B is Pfizer's only truly end-to-end business, spanning from our 12 global manufacturing sites through to commercial in a single integrated organization. It was created to give this portfolio dedicated focus, clearer accountability, and a fit-for-purpose operating model – recognizing that GH&B's portfolio has different economics, customer dynamics, and execution needs than Pfizer's innovative business. • By bringing Commercial and Supply into one organization, GH&B enables faster decision-making, stronger prioritization, and expanded capabilities for this important portfolio. • Our ambition: Rebuild a healthy operation positioned to serve patients for generations to come
Use Your Power for Purpose • The Market Access & Pricing Lead defines and governs the pricing and market access strategy for the full GH&B portfolio – both hospital sterile injectables and biosimilars - across international markets. The role sets the frameworks, corridors, and escalation governance within which eight clusters make pricing, reimbursement, and formulary decisions, ensuring that individual market actions are commercially sound and globally coherent. • This is a high-impact strategy and governance role in a portfolio where pricing is the primary competitive lever. The Market Access & Pricing Lead protects and optimizes portfolio value by equipping local teams with analytical frameworks, policy guardrails, and strategic guidance to make better pricing decisions faster - balancing speed with discipline across tender-driven, margin-sensitive markets, without owning execution directly.
What You Will Achieve
Pricing Strategy & Governance • Define the international pricing framework for the GH&B portfolio including pricing corridors, floor/ceiling thresholds, reference pricing principles, and market-type archetypes (tender-driven, free-pricing, reference-pricing-sensitive) that enable clusters to move fast within guardrails • Own pricing governance: set decision rights, escalation criteria, and approval thresholds for market-level pricing actions with material P&L impact; exercise commercial judgment on time-sensitive escalations where speed and accuracy both matter • Lead pricing strategy for high-stakes moments e.g., new product launches (entry positioning, corridor setting, cross-market sequencing), competitive responses, and tender rebids - defining the parameters within which clusters act • Ensure pricing compliance across markets through structured oversight and exception management, identifying cross-border reference pricing risks and recommending corrective actions
Market Access Strategy & Payor Engagement • Set the above-market access and reimbursement strategy for the GH&B portfolio, including formulary positioning, HTA engagement principles, and institutional access pathways • Provide strategic guidance to clusters on market access challenges including reimbursement negotiations, hospital listing strategies, and payor value propositions tailored to portfolio economics (volume-driven, cost-leadership positioning) • Develop access playbooks and value argumentation frameworks that equip local market teams to navigate payor and institutional decision-makers, ensuring they remain current as competitive and policy dynamics evolve • Monitor the evolving policy and regulatory landscape (e.g., reference pricing reforms, HTA policy evolution, biosimilar interchangeability regulations) and advise on implications for portfolio access and pricing strategy
Performance Oversight & Analytics • Define the pricing and access performance agenda determining KPIs and ensuring the commercial performance infrastructure surfaces the right signals to the International Leadership Team • Partner with the Director of Business Operations / Commercial Performance function to ensure pricing and access analytics are embedded in the commercial performance infrastructure • Define mitigation scenarios for revenue-at-risk scenarios from pricing and access dynamics in partnership with the Biosimilars and Hospital Portfolio Leads
Above-Market Guidance & Capability Building • Serve as strategic advisor to Cluster Leads and local Tender, Contracting & Account Management teams on pricing and access decisions – shaping outcomes through credibility, analytical rigor, and commercial logic rather than direct-line authority • Build pricing and market access as a discipline across the international community developing tools, training, and decision frameworks that raise the quality and consistency of local decision-making • Enable rapid dissemination of winning approaches across clusters, creating structured channels for peer learning on pricing tactics, access strategies, and competitive responses • Influence commercial decision-making across clusters by building trust and demonstrating value ensuring that above-market guidance is sought proactively, beyond governance requirements
Cross-Functional Integration & Stakeholder Alignment • Ensure pricing and access strategy is integrated with portfolio strategy, supply realities, and financial planning • Define pricing corridors and escalation triggers; Finance approves day-to-day pricing within corridors, this role intervenes on out-of-corridor decisions • Partner with the Partnerships & Alliances Lead on pricing dimensions of external partnerships, distribution agreements, and alliance structures • Coordinate with Regulatory and Medical on access-related submissions, clinical evidence requirements, and policy advocacy where appropriate • Align with Pfizer Global Pricing and Market Access functions o
