The Instructor Pilot is responsible for delivering high‑quality flight simulator and ground school training in accordance with applicable regulatory agency requirements, CAE‑approved curricula, and customer standards. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), the Instructor Pilot leads clients through their training experience while ensuring professionalism, safety, and instructional excellence. After approximately 1.5 years , and based on business needs, designated instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver simulator and classroom instruction on assigned aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
• Conduct thorough and professional pre‑ and post‑flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
• Maintain accurate training records, track instructional qualifications, and recommend remedial training when required.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the development and maintenance of curricula and courseware when needed.
• Provide a professional, welcoming learning environment while delivering consistent, customer‑focused training.
Minimum Qualifications • Hold, or meet qualifications to obtain, an unrestricted ATP certificate and a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating .
• Strong passion for teaching with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other internet‑based applications.
• Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program .
• Must be authorized to live and work in the United States .
Physical Requirements • Physical dexterity to perform tasks requiring hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Ability to sit in a confined space for 4–6 hours at a time with limited breaks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours ) with limited breaks.
• Ability to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn as required for simulator instruction.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience flying business aircraft and single pilot .
• Prior instructional or training experience.
• Demonstrated ability to tailor instruction to a diverse, global customer base.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records in compliance with CAE and FAA requirements.
