ABOUT THE ROLE

A fast-moving, pre-seed AI-powered talent acquisition startup is hiring its Founding Recruiter. You'll partner directly with the founding and engineering teams to shape how AI is applied to modern recruiting — owning high-impact, full-cycle searches for U.S.-based roles. This is a remote, Americas-based position for someone who thrives on independence, initiative, and delivering real hiring outcomes with minimal hand-holding.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Run full-cycle recruiting for U.S.-based roles using an AI-powered recruiting platform.

- Review AI-generated candidate matches and quickly surface the strongest, most relevant talent.

- Interview and qualify candidates, then present tight, high-signal shortlists to hiring managers.

- Join client calls, clarify role requirements, and provide honest, strategic hiring guidance.

- Act as a true partner to clients — including pushing back on unclear or unrealistic expectations.

- Own candidate pipelines end-to-end, ensuring fast, clean movement through every stage.

- Deliver structured feedback to the engineering team to improve matching logic and workflows.

- Keep candidate notes and process documentation accurate, up to date, and reliable.

- Prioritize across multiple concurrent searches and drive them to successful hires.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

- 3+ years of recruiting experience for U.S. clients or U.S.-based roles (dealbreaker).

- Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken.

- Strong client-facing presence: clear communication, expectation management, and relationship-building.

- Experience in a fast-paced environment — startup or high-velocity agency.

- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and AI-driven recruitment workflows.

- Demonstrated high ownership, reliability, and ability to move quickly without hand-holding.

- Availability to work 40–50 hours per week aligned with Pacific Time (PST), including occasional evening or weekend calls.

Nice to Have:

- Experience recruiting across multiple functions (engineering, sales, operations, G&A).

- Background in both agency and in-house recruiting.

- Hands-on experience improving recruiting tools, processes, or product.

This is a fully remote role open to candidates based in the Americas. The team operates primarily on Pacific Time (PST). The company's home base is in Los Angeles, United States.
