Position Summary :   MD Landscaping is   seeking   a   knowledgeable , organized, and experienced individual to join our team as   a Fleet   Mechanic.   The   Fleet Mechanic   will   be responsible for   the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including pickup trucks, trailers, and small engine machinery such as walker mowers and sod rollers. This role requires a hands-on individual who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within the company.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.  

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and drivetrain issues.  

• Overhaul and repair engines, transmissions, axles, and other major components (based on experience).  

• Maintain and repair small engines and landscaping machinery.  

• Conduct seasonal preparation and maintenance for summer and winter operations.  

• Utilize shop specialty tools and   maintain   personal basic toolset.  

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors   regarding   repairs and timelines.  

• Maintain   accurate   records of maintenance and repairs.  

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.  

Qualifications  

• Proven experience as a mechanic working with trucks, trailers, and small engines.  

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrains.  

• Experience with electrical systems and vehicle diagnostics is a plus.  

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.  

• Willingness to learn and grow with the company.  

• Must provide a personal basic set of tools/toolbox (shop specialty tools are available).  

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.  

Experience:  

• Mechanical knowledge   preferred .  

• Minimum 1 year experience as an Automotive Technician/Mechanic or   similar   role, 3-5 years preferred.  

License/Certification:  

• Driver's License  

• GED/Diploma  

• Technical College a plus
