About this role

IAP World Services , an Intrepid Global Solutions company, is a recognized leader in Facilities Management and Operations in support of Defense, Intelligence, and National Security missions

Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. Services provided include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs; engineering, construction, and operations support; custodial and grounds maintenance services; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services.

As the  Fire Alarm and Suppression Technician , you will perform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire alarms systems and suppression equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • The purpose of this position is to inspect, service, maintain, repair fire alarm and suppression systems. • Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. • Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. • Shall develop and implement procedures to identify and prevent defective services from recurring. • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • NICET Certified Level III  or IV required • High School Diploma or Equivalent • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety Industry including:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:  • High level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code and pertinent UFC codes. • Must be thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents. • Ability and willingness to work independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting
