Job Duties: Attention: The Department of Continuing Education in the College of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education at UW-Whitewater seeks a Financial Specialist, (Financial Specialist II).
Job Details: Join the Camps and Conferences team in successfully hosting over 10,000+ youth and adults annually through camps, conferences, events and lessons. This position supports the unit by being the primary person responsible for all financial operations. The role also prepares, analyzes, and distributes financial reports to monitor budgets, revenue, expenses, and overall program performance. In addition, this position works closely with program staff, vendors, and the finance team to resolve billing inquiries, maintain accurate financial records, support budget planning, and ensure the smooth and efficient financial administration of all Camps and Conferences activities. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Key Job Responsibilities: • Processing and maintaining accurate billing and invoicing. Creates general reporting for transactions • Audits or processes advanced transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations and policies Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings • Overseeing accounts payable by reviewing and paying vendor invoices in a timely manner • Reconciling financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures • Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures • Produce final accountings for each unique event • Manage the hire and payroll for all employees
Department: Continuing Education- Camps and Conferences
Compensation: Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting hourly wage within a range of $21/hr - $24/hr.

Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma at time of application
• 2 years of professional experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications: • Associate's degree in business or a related field
• Experience using WorkDay software for human resources and/or finance
• Experience in a higher education environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
• Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
