ABOUT THE TEAM

The Factory Services team is part of the Shared Services, Systems & Infrastructure (3SI) organization within the Maritime Division. This team owns the technical shared services that every production business line depends on - machining, hydrostatic testing, tooling, 3D printing, and calibration. As the site scales from a single product line to multiple business lines operating under one roof, the demand on these shared resources will grow significantly. This team ensures that every business line gets the technical support it needs, when it needs it, without bottlenecks or conflicts slowing production.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Senior Factory Services Supervisor to join our rapidly growing team in Quonset, RI. In this role, you will be responsible for standing up and leading the technical shared services function at our multi-product manufacturing site. Reporting directly to the Factory Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and prioritization of all shared technical resources - including the machine room, hydrostatic test chamber, tooling room, and 3D printing capabilities. Your first priority will be designing and implementing a scheduling methodology that ensures fair, transparent, and efficient allocation of these shared resources across multiple business lines. This role requires someone with a strong understanding of manufacturing support services who over-indexes on communication and cross-functional coordination. You will be the person in the middle when two business lines need the same resource at the same time, and you need to be the type of leader who can navigate those conversations, build trust with production stakeholders, and keep the site running smoothly. If you thrive in environments where you are building processes from scratch, managing competing priorities, and serving as the operational backbone for production teams, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Technical Services Leadership: Oversee all shared technical services including machining, hydrostatic testing, tooling fabrication, 3D printing, and future capabilities such as calibration. Ensure each function is staffed, equipped, and operating to meet the needs of all business lines on site.

• Scheduling and Resource Allocation: Design, implement, and own the scheduling methodology for shared technical resources. Build a system that provides visibility into capacity, demand, and prioritization across business lines. Ensure scheduling decisions are transparent, data-informed, and aligned with site production priorities.

• Cross-Business Line Coordination: Serve as the primary point of coordination between production business lines and shared technical services. Proactively identify scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints, facilitate prioritization discussions, and ensure equitable access to shared resources. Build strong working relationships with production leads across all programs.

• Team Development: Supervise and develop technical services staff, including machinists, test technicians, and tooling specialists. Set priorities, assign work, and build a culture of responsiveness and accountability. As the team grows, hire and integrate new roles including a dedicated scheduling coordinator.

• Process Buildout: Establish standard operating procedures, work request intake processes, and performance metrics for all shared technical services. Build these processes from the ground up in a way that scales as new business lines and capabilities are added to the site.

• Capacity Planning: Monitor utilization and throughput across all shared resources. Forecast future demand as new programs come online and recommend staffing, equipment, or facility investments needed to stay ahead of production requirements.

• Communication and Reporting: Provide regular status updates to the Factory Manager and site leadership on shared resource utilization, scheduling performance, and any risks to production timelines. Participate in site battle rhythm meetings and serve as the voice of technical services in cross-functional planning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with exposure to technical support services (machining, testing, tooling, or similar)

• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or coordination role managing shared resources or cross-functional support teams

• Demonstrated ability to build and manage scheduling or resource allocation processes in a multi-program or multi-customer environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of working across organizational boundaries and managing competing priorities

• Experience standing up or significantly improving operational processes in a scaling environment

• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a defense, aerospace, or government-contract manufacturing environment

• Familiarity with machining operations (CNC, manual), hydrostatic or pressure testing, and rapid prototyping/3D printing

• Experience with scheduling tools, MES platforms, or ERP systems used for shop floor resource management

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufactur
