Micron is seeking a Facilities Water Services UPW and Wastewater Shift Supervisor to own shift performance for critical water systems supporting high-volume wafer manufacturing in Boise, Idaho. This role is accountable for safe, reliable, and compliant operation of UPW, wastewater, reclaim, and related Water Services systems while partnering with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Maintenance, contractors, suppliers, and fab customers.
The Shift Supervisor leads the team, sets expectations, drives focused execution, identifies abnormal conditions, interprets alarms and trends, coordinates issue resolution, and ensures recovery and corrective actions are completed. Ideal candidates combine technical judgment, people leadership, ownership, and accountability in a fast-paced facilities environment using control systems, dashboards, lab data, passdowns , CMMS tools, procedures, and performance metrics. This role strengthens team capability, operational readiness, and system reliability while demonstrating Micron’s core values of People, Innovation, Tenacity, Collaboration, and Customer Focus.
Responsibilities:
• Own shift performance for UPW, wastewater, reclaim, and supporting Water Services systems to meet safety, quality, reliability, and factory goals.
• Set priorities, assign work, follow up on commitments, maintain housekeeping, and hold the team accountable for daily tasks.
• Mentor and develop team members through clear expectations, engagement, training progress, certification readiness, and cross-training.
• Implement safety expectations, EHS requirements, permits, procedures, customer commitments, and inspection-ready work areas.
• Apply water treatment and facilities knowledge across UPW, wastewater, reclaim, filtration, chemical dosing, and chemical distribution systems.
• Monitor alarms, trends, rounds, samples, and operating conditions; ensure issues are escalated, documented, communicated, and resolved.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Construction, contractors, suppliers, technicians, and fab customers during planned work, commissioning, recovery, and crisis response.
• Improve procedures, training materials, checklists, passdowns , and standard work; support root-cause analysis and drive actions to closure.
Minimum Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent .
• Relevant experience in facilities, water treatment, wastewater, industrial maintenance, operations, military service, or a related technical field .
• 2+ years operating or maintaining water treatment, chemical processing, or semiconductor facilities systems .
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (3 days on/4 days off, then 4 days on/3 days off), including rotating between day and night shifts every four months .
• Prior leadership experience coordinating people, priorities, safety, accountability, and follow-up as a supervisor, shift lead, lead technician, military leader, project lead, crew lead, or similar role.
Preferred Requirements:
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field .
• 3+ years of technical experience in facilities operations, water services, UPW, wastewater, chemical treatment, utilities, semiconductor manufacturing, or another high-volume industrial environment .
• 5+ years of supervisory, lead technician, shift lead, military leadership, or equivalent people-leadership experience with demonstrated ownership and follow-through.
• Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
